Though this year's flooding was less about climate change and more about the millions of cubic meters of water injected into the atmosphere by the Tongan volcano.

Higher frequency of cyclic atmospheric phenomenon such as La Nina and Indian Ocean Dipole exacerbated by increased atmospheric and sea temperatures seem to be the leading cause.
No mention of volcanic input here. Your info source may see things differently. Please share for our benefit.

The OzGeographic platform seems high in rhetoric but lacking in hard data. I agree though that the volcanic activity has amplified a pre-existing situation which I see as a fortuitous opportunity to see how fragile our climatic equilibrium is presently.

Volcanic Ash also has a cooling effect on the atmosphere. I have no idea if it has put enough to affect weather patterns, but look at the cold winter the northern hemisphere is experiencing at the moment!
