What on Earth do people expect? This is a regime that believes in total control of its people, and territories, where ever they might be. Of course they have stations in other countries that allow them to police their people, gather information, and stifle opposition.

That is what regimes like this do.

And if anyone thinks for a single moment other regimes do not have similar strategies in place, then, maaaate, yer dreamin'...

Others likely do, the main difference as far as democratic countries go, is they typically ask for permission.
I expect chinas interests are in keeping an eye on those speaking against the CCP regime, and anyone else they dont like such as falun gong, etc.

Stuff such as this illustrates the worst in human nature; the need to control others to such a degree. We may eventually get past it as we evolve further. Or not.
