LastPass data hack
#1
Anyone using lastpass, or any password manager for that reason.  I never have and now with them going online and cloud based, gives me even less incentive

Quote: For the security service's 25.6 million users, though, the company made a worrying announcement on December 22: A security incident the firm had previously reported (on November 30) was actually a massive and concerning data breach that exposed encrypted password vaults—the crown jewels of any password manager—along with other user data.

I use Cryptainer LE which is only on my drive, no cloud backup at all and it will only open with a password that I know. It creates a cxl1705 file on my computer which I backup and put on several hard drives that I have so if one gets corrupted or stolen I have others to take its place, all I would have to do is download the program again
Despite the high cost of living it remains popular

Password managers are a joke, but everyone is using them without even realising.
Take google chrome for example, it stores your passwords in your browser if you ask it to remember your password, and typically they are stored in the cloud through your google account in many instances.

Only secure way is to write them down in a book, but even then the experts say not to do that!
Seems you cant win these days unless they made use of biometrics.

i think the only one I would slightly trust would be an open source one like bitwarden, but even then it still has cloud access which just seems like a hack waiting to happen

I do use Keepass for all my important stuff...
