Access Denied ...
#1
Good morning.

I am trying to copy some files to one of the folders: D:\Temp.   But Windows says Access denied and that I need Administrator permission.

This drive / folder has been with me for many years as my main 'storage'.  It has been with me since Win7 days.

How do I tell Windows 11 that this is my own drive/folder and I need to copy some files to it?

* I have no problem in reading all my stored files.

Cheers

can you create a new text document or folder on the drive?
and then if you can create the folder does the copy work to that folder...
Is this an internal or external hard drive?

It's not 'asking' for an administrator password as well is it?

if you can take a screenshot of it that would be helpful...

to reset the permissions on a specific folder you would need to run this command in a command prompt or terminal window with admin rights

Code:
icacls "D:\Temp" /reset /t /c /l
