sander type to buy
#1
Hi, wanting to sand back our deck, that has multiple layers of stain on it, back to the wood and start again with fresh stain as it is very uneven coloured now. But not sure what type of sander i would use. Should I buy a belt sander? Or would I be better off to hire a large floor sander? Thanks in advance.

Stains mostly come off with waterblasting, at least on our fences they do - belt sanders are pretty coarse and can chew through wood fairly easily

If it's for just one use, you are better off hiring one...and they will advise on what best suits your needs.

belt sanders would rip it off too fast, try the waterblaster first, ive had good success in the past.
