Racist Philip Arps jailed

Generally, I try to avoid being pleased at someone else's difficulties. This idiot though tends to bring his troubles on himself with his ignorance & bigotry so in his case he really has no one to blame but himself.
You really have to wonder about his mental health when he behaves this foolishly.

I saw that - abusing someone whose very job is to make sure you're behaving yourself, is just plain dumb...
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

Not necessarily 'dumb' but perhaps a psychiatric issue. A guy I know is a very clever tradesman who has brilliant skills in electrical design and implementation but he can't help himself in terms of mouthing off about potentially inflammatory subjects at the most inappropriate times and surroundings. His employers have learnt to limit his exposure to senior clients due to his abrasive manner as there have been comments along the lines of 'don't send that guy out to our site again'.

A common friend with psychology qual's has identified his behaviour as a recognised affliction, and definitely not symptomatic of a low IQ.

I sometimes wonder if racism isn't in some ways a mental disorder, because its so illogical.

Years ago there was a book, Black like me which was written by a man who had deliberately changed his skin colour in order to experience something of what it was to be an African American.

It would perhaps be interesting to alter the appearance of racists to resemble those they choose to hate & see if that eventually might make some difference.
