David Seymour 'subhuman' comment
#1
Any damn fool using this term causes loud alarm bells to sound; that is doubly so when the person is a politician & particularly a right wing politician. That really is a disgraceful comment which any politician should know better than to ever use - under any circumstances.

Somalia, of which Mogadishu is the capital, has been gripped by civil war for decades and, since 2006, Islamist al Shabaab militants have been fighting to topple its Western-backed government and establish its own rule based on a strict interpretation of Islamic law. Late last week, al Shabaab claimed an attack on a restaurant in Mogadishu - during which nine people were killed.

Seymour has been fiercely critical of the situation in Ōpōtiki, where schools and roads were closed as red cars and motorbikes convoyed through the town to Whakatāne for the tangi of Steven Rota Taiatini.
"We share the anger of the people of Ōpōtiki being terrorised by the subhuman actions of weak individuals unable to solve their problems like civilised members of society," Seymour said earlier this week. "Labour should be ashamed that they have allowed things to get this bad under their watch."

he's a brave man calling patched gang members subhuman in public - one of them might decide to pay him a visit...

They will take that as a compliment. Just like the mongrel mob getting their name from a judge.

Quote:The gang began with a group of mainly New Zealand European youths from Wellington and Hawke's Bay in the 1960s. Legend within the gang holds that the name originated from the comments of a judge in the Hastings District Court, who referred to a group of men before him as mongrels.

I was a little taken aback by some of the images in the media, and couldn't help but wonder if ordinary folk had been riding on roofs, hanging out windows, and acting like fools in their vehicles, if the cops would've left them alone too.

Personally gang members are subhuman - when they're with the gang. By themselves can generally be as human as the next person.

I find  it ironic that their call is often Seig Heil or shortened to Seig when most of them would have been loaded into box cars as the Nazis most assuredly would have found them "sub human".
