Easiest way would be to create a shortcut, put it on the desktop or somewhere, with the target location being C:\
See pic

To be full screen, like any other Window, maximize 1st and it should stay maximized next time.
You can even assign a shortcut key if you so desire Smile

This video shows several ways to open  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaaerVLMI0Y

You can change opening locations, but C Drive is not in the options by default. The Defaults are Home, This PC and your One Drive folder, which is called YourName- Personal.

Thanks  once again Wainui.
No "create shortcut" but Drag and Drop did the trick. Not quite what I expected but am happy with the result.

Dragging any Drive to the desktop, actually only creates a shortcut any way Smile

I knew it would work once you prompted me. I wanted the folder list in the left panel but am happy with it in the right. It was in the left when i did the shortcut, but moved to right when opened with the shortcut.
