Whittakers toffee milk on the chopping block
#1
Sad
Sad news.
Another piece of kiwiana gone off the shelves.
Just look at the prices a box is selling for on Trademe.
Reminds me of what happened with snifters.
I feel that poor marketing might be a role to play.
Just been around a few dairies and none of the staff even knew what they were!
One shopkeeper at the store that I would always get them from said they only ever made one shipment per year and that the machinery was 100 years old that made them!

I'm a big Whittakers' fan,  but honestly it's just sweets that we're looking at and in a world where children in Gaza are dying of malnutrition I'm not weeping about confectionery.

First world problem for sure.
Just makes me sad to see more and more products I used to grow up with disappear off the shelves.
Some good news, so the shopkeeper says anyway is that some of the discontinued K-bar flavours are coming back.

I used to love them when I was a kid but can't recall the last time I bought one. There is the issue - same with Snifters - they wouldn't get rid of them if they were selling. I was ropable when Pascalls got rid of Tangy Fruits. Loved having those at the movies.

Of such things a good life is made, lol. The Kapiti white chocolate and raspberry minis are a gift to the taste buds.

And the hips.
