For something more cheerful and very English I can recommend this, my favourite pieces of classical music, he goes through every emotion. Magnificent and Triumphant, elegant, soft and gentle. The feeling one gets when drinking a flavoursome Rose wine. Lightweight but satisfying. All the symphonies are outstanding. Considered to be a minor composer I find him to be my favourite. Maybe I just have lightweight tastes in music. Not so keen on The symphonies but I'm not averse to Beethoven & the odd bit of Opera now & then. Can't listen to Nessun Dorma any more though; its one piece which makes me blub immediately!
