That's a stunning image.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

For any budding photographers the Tasmanian photo shot by Sean O'Riordan , "shot was 10 seconds, f4 and ISO 4000. If I’m honest I could have even gone with shorter shutter as the beams in the aurora are blurred because they were moving." Camera used was a Nikon.

I'm hearing reports of auroras seen on the equator, that's nuts!

That was a great night's viewing from our suburban back yard. Photos need a bit more work. I tried some different settings starting with 10sec at f4 and ISO 3200 (after seeing the advice above). Each variation has a different set of problems and I've gone back to this one being the best. We also both tried our phones (both Samsung). My A13 doesn't have night mode but DH's S20 did a good job.

I've been using the prediction website that harm_less gave us on the other thread. It's great.

Yeah it was hard to get with everyone else pushing and shoving with their cameras. It was packed full of people.
Got some other good shots from my backyard too.

You see beautiful things like that & understand how beautiful the world is, but somehow we manage to muck it up with our stupidity...
