Teslas plan to introduce Hydrogen
#1
Didnt see this coming.
Not a big fan of hydrogen at all, but I guess the market pressure, from the Japanese market in particular may have been a factor?

Hydrogen is not a good green alternative. Its processing alone proves that.

I seem to remember Elon Musk making pro-hydrogen comment a while back that turned out to be an April Fools joke. If he's serious this time around he's seriously lost the plot!

For anybody that has yet to understand why hydrogen is a very bad idea, especially for fuelling transport, then educate yourself here:

Whats the story with all this talk about hydrogen reserves being discovered underground? I guess that could be a valid argument if there is an abundant supply in the ground.
I remember hearing something in the news about it earlier this year, apparently NZ has the right geology to find it in some areas.
But either way, its difficult to transport and store, I dont see it having much of a future.
Im wondering if there is either some level of pressure from other directors in the company, or perhaps the Japanese market might be a factor, their manufacturers over there are still pushing hydrogen hard, Toyota in particular.
The crowd at the Hyundai site at the fieldays were trying to tell me that "theoretically" they can get it up to 50% efficiency to produce the stuff using electricity, i still think that's ridiculously poor and I would rather have a car that i can charge for free from my solar panels someday instead of relying on an energy company to sell me the fuel to put in the vehicle.
