Gif in WhatsApp for Windows

How to copy a Gif file and post it in WhatsApp for Windows?

I have tried but to no avail.  Just won't work.

Is there any tricks in doing so?

from what I can see that isn't supported on the desktop client

The only workaround i have seen that doesn't involve whatsapp on a phone is this one 

Whatsapp as of now(June 2024) doesn't support sending emojis from your hard drive. Your can only share gifs through GIPHY which is whatsapp's default.

One way which i tried (and it worked) was..

Go to GIPHY's website and create an account.

Upload your gif using distinguishable and unique tags.

Go to whatsapp and search for your gif using the tags you provided and Voilà.

P.S. I think that whatsapp should increase support for gifs. Atleast sharing gifs from local storage.
