Climate Extremes documentary
#1
A sobering expose on the state of our planet. Worth watching on a large screen.
#2
Just been watching this film.
Very good documentary, it's good to be informed on both sides of the argument.

financed by a podcaster? sure that won't have any bias whatsoever...

Where are the climate scientists in that doco CT? I see astronomers, physicists and journalists but noone from climate or any kind of Earth sciences. How is one supposed to take that seriously?

This not good enough for you?
We have Physicists and top Meteorologists here who have a good grasp on how things play out, but because they disagree with the narrative, they are shut down, this is just like religion.
Even the Co-Founder of Greenpeace is onboard.

I guess it was too much to expect an actual climate scientist...

Does a Harvard Meteorologist not count?
If he agreed with the UN IPCC, im sure it would, but because he goes against the narrative he gets shut down.

Bit like the covid vaccine when people who helped develop MRNA were shut down about their concerns.
Now all the truth is coming out on that too. Feel bad for all the people who have had it.

if you had a significant number of climate scientists that disagreed with the "science/narrative" espoused by the other climate scientists, then we might have a discussion going on about whether this climate change thing is real or not - as it is the climate change denier industry might as well have an architect and a cartographer as their poster child

Typical conspiracy theorist fodder. Half truths, lacking accurate data and pandering to Westerners who are averse to change and ignorant of what modern technology has to offer. The situation portrayed in the later part of the video is easily countered. Africa leapfrogged landline phone communication and took to mobile phone technology in a big way. The same applies to electricity generation from solar and the cheap running costs, and lower maintenance offered
by electric vehicles. https://reasonstobecheerful.world/nimble...can-trade/

Earlier in the video the evidence of sea temperature increases was mentioned but trivialised and glossed over. Our oceans are a massive heat and CO2 sink which is moderating the warming of our climate to a great extent. The recent alarm that has been raised over the weakening of the AMOC recirculation current system and of the bleaching and degradation of coral reef systems including the Great Barrier are results of the soaring CO2 levels occurring in our atmosphere. For more info on the way our oceans work and their effect on our planet check out Blue Machine by Helen Czerski.

We are presently witnessing the cheapest electricity generation ever seen and increasingly so. This will completely change our lives and our impact on the planet. The fossil fuel companies are increasingly becoming aware of these changes and are doing their best to resist them, in a large part by denial of the damage that their products' combustion is doing to our atmosphere. These are hugely wealthy companies so can exert great pressure on society to maintain the status quo. Don't be sucked in by their climate change denial retoric.

I came across a doco on Oz's future, climate hell I think was the subtitle. It was scary enough on the facts side, but the worst bits were the pieces where coal industry folk were interviewed, determined denial all the way. In the face of all those fires and floods and tragedy, and still they hold fast to the killer industry.
