ICE fascists remove father, leave children in truck
#1
They seem to be running riot over there; zero concern for the welfare of two children who must have been terrified. This really is disgraceful, that any govt can treat people in such a way. Angry Angry

The advocacy group says one of the children was 19 but unable to drive & powerless to leave; the age of the other is unknown.

In and out of jobs, running free

of course the other child may have been a 23 year old with a DL, but that doesn't fit the anti government narrative

There is an element of cruelty in these incidents that is worrying. Exacerbated by this mask wearing thing. Seems to indicate a level of personal shame to me...

There's also a terrifying possibility that, sooner or later some psycho - or several -  will dress up in a similar costume & grab people off the street.

Without protest from anyone who sees it.

There might be something to be said for naming & shaming- & sharing an image without costume - of  those within ICE who are responsible for what is an abduction.

You aren't that stupid.

It was an interesting part of the pandemic, the mask thing. My take from it was that the promotion of masking up was designed to protect, primarily people like me, aged with vulnerabilities on the health front. And it did upset a lot of people who found it intrusive, political, and uncomfortable. And frightening, but they rarely confessed that.

Masking used in the appication of power and authority over others is not really entirely different. It's a bit like gang patches. And we treat those in interesting ways here in Aotearoa. So it reinforces the feeling of personal power, while hiding the identity of the individual wielding it. Protecting thrm from the consequences of their own actions.

Protection... For those who need it.

I think the way police wear an identifying number is a really good thing. But then we live in a very different community with very different expectations of our police and other enforcement services. It must be deeply unsettling to live in a state where those can no longer be relied upon to serve the people.

All the more so, if you'd voted for Trump not realising where it was likely to lead. That must be a very bitter pill indeed.

Trump has been a well known p.o.s. for a long time, lots of people know it

It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

He really is an evil, repulsive person.  Dodgy

The world would be a better place without him.
