never used that one but I have used this and it hasn't let me down
https://github.com/AveYo/MediaCreationTool.bat 1. Backup! 2. Download the zip from the CODE button in the link above 3. extract it somewhere 4. run MediaCreationTool.bat or to automate the initial upgrade process... rename MediaCreationTool.bat as auto 11 MediaCreationTool.bat then run it and sit back and watch it do its thing... The tool is probably fine.
The question is - if you're installing Windows 11 on unsupported hardware, will there be a point in the future when Microsoft releases an update that is incompatible with whatever changes were made to do an unofficial installation, and leave the system unbootable, or similar? Just be aware of that possibility. Not saying it will happen - but I imagine it's plausible.

That's 100% true; I actually had it happen on an incompatible workshop PC. Windows 11 worked fine for roughly 5 months, but after one (security) update, it wouldn't boot anymore, and I couldn't roll back. Wiped the drive put W11 back, again same update caused the same problem. Wiped drive ran W10 again, few months later tried W11 again, this time no problem, been working fine for over a year now.

Anyone having issues with this?
Ive now encountered this problem twice, once on a Microsoft surface and second on an hp pavilion all in one. In both instances I had to use a US English ISO, not the international version in order to proceed with an upgrade install and keep all the files and apps etc. Basically im getting 0xC1900101 installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase. Ive had this happen sometimes going from 7 to 10, done all the usual things that have worked in the past, e.g remove drivers for disk in device manager, sfc, dism etc. Anything else I can try?

never used flyby11 but you could try my goto solution from #2, haven't had any issues with that one yet...

I will try that, but Im thinking its something else other than flyby11, ive had it happen going from 7 to 10 as well. I cant remember the exact solution that got it working for me last time, but I know that drivers seem to be a root cause in most cases.
think i had one a long time back that might have been the security software or maybe AMD graphics drivers,
could try stripping them out may have been a different error though, can't recall This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

i happened to be reading that very page this morning.
I found a missing driver in the log that appears to be some remains of trend micro, I removed it from the registry and tried again but no success. Im wondering if i uninstall all the non critical drivers and start again? They can always be reinstalled afterwards.
do you want to upload that log file and i'll have a look over it?

I had looked at that too, memory integrity was initially not enabled and I had to update the AMD drivers to get it working, made no difference. I am yet to try a BIOS update, as apparently that can be a factor. I have already tried this with the internet disconnected with no success. Anyway, ive sent you the log files, its got pretty big now! |
