Strong winds today

Luckily we have escaped it here in Tauranga but ive got a friend in invercargill who lost their whole fence, snapped right off at the ground, along with most of their neighbors fences
Just watching the news, its lucky no one has been killed today from falling trees, but I believe there sadly was a death yesterday.

yeah was pretty bad here in CHCH, don't think i've seen or heard it this bad before... No real damage around us, just a lot of recycling bins blown over down the street.
Just watched the news and North Canty got a hammering.

We had a bit come through last night very briefly with some heavy rain, gas cleared up quite fast.
