That's sad for you Roma, the more so at this time of year.

I managed to get the wretched hedge done earlier & they're supposedly coming to do the tree tomorrow so things will be slightly tidier for a while. Of course, that may change if it rains again.

Getting fed up with so much rain - wouldn't be so bad if only plants grew & weeds & lawns didn't. Smile

Oh Roma, why do these things happen at times like these. I am very sorry for your loss, our Mums are such anchors in our lives, no matter what our age.

My tomatoes may have early blight. And there was me contemplating green tomato chutney recipes. Which might now come to pass..

That is hard too, even after 36 years that day tears my heart in two. I hate Easter...

And my bloody spinach has bolted, dammit; I'll have to get sees from it somehow.

My Stepfathers anniversary is 2 days after my fathers birthday so the middle of the month is Narly to say the least.

Thinking of you all Roma

Thanks all.

End of an era for my family.  Not the best timing and so there will be no funeral.  Will instead have a family gathering as a memorial down the track a bit. She would have liked that  Heart

Morning ladies Smile We had a real doozy of a storm last night, the lightening was amazing! And the colour of the sky as the sun set was incredible. One of those times Mother Nature really shows us what power she has.

A gathering is a nice idea, roma. We did this with my sister-in-law and it worked well. And we were able to be outdoors so there was that extra layer of Covid protection.

Housework for me today and tomorrow our son comes home for a few days Heart He's looking at buying a new motorcycle and has asked us to go with him as he decides. MrK used to ride 'back in the day' and seeing as MrK can't drive yet, I get to go along too Big Grin

Hopefully I can spend some time on the quail today. I need to tighten the fabric on the frame as it's becoming loose and is mucking up my tension.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning all
Another damp day

Managed to get some quilting done the visitors interrupted which was nice and probably good break for my shoulders. I do try to be good and quilt for 40 mi uses and take 20 minute break but sometimes I ignore the timer.

So more quilting for me today.

Enjoy u our day

Ooooh a new bike! What an adventure that is. I had four of those before becoming a Mum turned me into a more sensible woman, but oh I still look at passing motorcyclists with deep envy and drool over parked up bikes within stroking distance. Nothing quite like those machines to teach us about freedom, total joy and fear, all mixed up together. So glad I got to do that part of my life...

lol OHH, he loves it Smile He's buying all new gear too and wants his helmet this time to have a go-pro so he can film his adventures. His inheritance from his aunt is coming through tonight and he wants to spend it on something she would love as well. Some will be saved for an overseas trip as she also loved to travel. We suggested he spend it in her memory, and this is what he's decided. We think she will thoroughly approve of his way of honoring her. She was no wimp and tried as many adventurous things as she could and would have been devastated to see the money just sitting in the bank.

Morning everyone

No rain here other than the brief shower about 11am yesterday.. I do Love a good storm. How was the Furry one during it Kiwimade?

Will be nice to have your son home. The Neighbour had a visit on a Harley there on Wednesday. Unusual colour a pale mint green with Copper accents. Very Yummy. There's a guy around the corner with 2 Goldwings in maroon. I have only seen him there but I gather there is another Half and they ride together.

How is his shoulder now Kiwimade?.

Im off to see the ladies this morning and then over to see MrP.. I prefer to do my trips out in the morning so this 2-30 time slot isnt my friend.

Its so nice to see The Great British Sewing Bee. I really should get back to my Teddies..

Its nice to see the lawns all done. Dont have to think about them now.. Just a pity no one gets to see them lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Floors, dishes and washing to hang out and that's the housework done for another week. This Covid hangover is a pain in the ar**. I find I have to stop more often than I usually would. Still, I can get things done and the stops are getting fewer.

Popeye, his shoulder is fine, but I suspect he won't be going far on this bike for a while. He doesn't need physio or anything so he's very, very lucky.

The Furry One was a real mess during the storm but settled once it had passed over. If he would wear one of those thunder coats, I think he would cope better.

I think your Son has been Very lucky alright.. Might show up when he is older tho.

Not good re the Furry one.. I saw a picture of the way someone had wrapped a towel in a figure 8 around their dog, it might be worth looking for.

Im finished. Car is loaded.. Ill pop in and see the ladies on my way out of town.. So will be a longish day out.

One of my best memories on the bike was doing the defensive riding course run by two local cops in Taupo. They set up all kinds of challenges for us and it was a huge confidence boost for those of us who took part. I reckon it saved my neck a couple of times, the stuff I learned on that. And it was fun learning how to ride as well as the guys on the course. Especially seeing my bike was bigger than some of theirs!!

Pity my husband couldn't do it because of his shift work schedule, he might've avoided the drunk bastard who did a u turn in front of him without signalling...
