Yes I think all the rain has come to Wellington- it is very wet at the moment and I have to go out in it  Rolleyes

Good to hear that you are improving Mica, don’t rush things.

It does pay to shop around - it seems that the different big brand places take it in turns to be cheaper. Recently saved $150 at Noel Lemmings over Harvey Normans for exactly the same item.

If you don’t want to do then Lilith tell your friend that calendars are sooooo yesterday lol,  I was given a couple at Christmas but tend to just check on my phone so both are stuck on January still  Big Grin

I have stuck with the NZ House&Garden calender blue tacked to my fridge for years now, though I can be a bit slack when the month turns. I do like the images though, I have always been a bit obsessed with interiors. And not the minimalist kind either.

So I am seriously considering a bit of decluttering in my own space, and listing beloved pieces that just take up so much space. But I would miss them so much... Fortunately, there is no rush.

I am impatient though for courierpost to deliver my new dumb phone. I want to see what the real thing looks like in my hand, and find out if it is less scary that the old smart one!

And I want to get out the nail polish...  Big Grin

It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

MrK's optometrist appointment has been changed as the optometrist isn't available. So we shot over to Harvey Norman and they will deliver and install and take away the old oven for $400 cheaper than Noel Leeming. We try to buy local but $400 is too much of a difference. It was even worth the trip to Hamilton to sort it all out.

Wow that's good Kiwimade. And saves having to get rid of the old one.

I like to shop local but sadly sometimes you have to go further. Especially the way money is today.

I was given a Cat Shaming Calendar for Christmas. Normally I dont do Calendars but this one has a new cat picture for every day of the week but sharing the weekend. Each page has a photo of a cat with the sign stating their Wrong doing. On the back of the page is a daily puzzle. Which Im not doing yet. But it's my daily Giggle.

Ohh talking of Giggling, last night Madam decided she needed her cheeseball. Not easy to open the jar with your hand sore, I didn't realise It was leaning against my alarm until the dammed thing went off. By the time I got to the base it was too late to cancel it. So when the guy spoke I had to tell him all was ok and what I had done. We were both laughing, but Madam wasn't, she didn't know his voice lol.

Bobbie was soo excited when I got there today. She had been waiting at reception. Her cousin and second cousin finally found her. They visited yesterday and she was soo happy.. Im soo pleased for her. She has given them her family photos, which is good. We were only talking about them last week. She keeps asking if she can come and live with me, so my increasing use of distraction is coming in handy with her too.

The Home has splashed out on some local artwork. Beautiful local places.. And OMG the Manager said hello today..

MrP was a bit crochety but I can't blame him. They have a new roomy. Mental poor and physically. And very loud. And had visitors at 2-30am.. So MrP didn't get a good sleep. Hopefully he's only there for respite, he came from the Hospital. Time will tell.

Lucky it wasn't a bad burn Popeye & is on the mend.

Its been a very rushing around day today, finally home & took Madame Le Dog for a shorter than usual walk due to being slightly knackered; we'll do a long one tomorrow.
Due to begin the very slowly tapering off steroids tomorrow which is likely to take a while.

Have decided to just tai ho on the calendar idea until I'm sure of what I can or can't do; there's no point getting all enthusiastic if it turns out to not be feasible.

arrrgggggggggggg AMI need to change their 'on hold' music. Holy moley, it has taken me three days to get through to them to lodge a claim for our windscreen. Yes, we could do it online but we prefer our local glass and joinery place. Especially as the so-called 'approved' glass repairer did such a slack job on one of our windscreens it leaked and left the car smelling musty. It took several attempts by them to fix it.

Good idea, Lilith, to put it the calendar on hold for a while. It will give you time to mull things over Smile

No courierpost deliveries, sob...

Still, it gives me time to sus out some nail polish designs, lol.

And the scaffolding has gone up the hill to other units, so I have had a pleasant time scrubbing down the dirty marks on the new paint, and putting all the pots and plants and chairs back. And discovered a length of wood discarded from deck planks replacement makes a good fit for a shelf on the solid balustrade. Good place to raise seedings and grow succulents...

Tomorrow though I really must vac now I have most of my living space back.

Morning everyone

Yep up early.

Bloods and shopping today. The latter getting more scary each week. So long as I get Missy's stuff I can easily get by, food is generally the same and boring for me with a few good meals thrown in.

Will be nice for you to have everything back in place OHH.. And hopefully your phone will arrive today.

I do hope we can have the Commonwealth games again. Oddly I dont have a lot of memories of the 1990 ones, maybe cos we were living in the sticks then. But I do remember the 1974 ones. It would be good for us.. So long as they can keep stupid protestors away cos they are bound to come up with some reason to stir up trouble.

Drink MrsP.. you need to drink lol...Makes getting blood easier..

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies Smile Where's this rain they promised us? Might have to put the hose on the garden soon if it doesn't rain.

I remember both the 1990 and 1974 games. My sister and I were on holiday staying with my aunt, uncle and family in Christchurch on holiday in 1974 and I remember all the flags flying at the Riccarton roundabout Tongue Now that's going back a bit lol. I'm really hoping it comes to NZ too, I read that we would be sharing it with Victoria, Australia if we did have it. Makes sense and cuts costs.

Thanks for the link zqwerty, I didn't know about that website. It will be really useful for future purchases. It seems most of our stuff is aging (like us lol) and will need to be replaced sooner or later.

The lawnmowing contractor mowed the front berms yesterday so the plan is to mow the lawn today. I could have done it yesterday but couldn't be bothered. It's the last mow using our 25 year old mower today Sad and I will be sorry to see it go. My sister-in-law had a near new mower she never used thanks to her lawn mowing guy and gave it to us. We tend to pass stuff around the family lol. Once I have used all the petrol in the old mower MrK is going to break it down and I'll take it in for scrap metal.

Happy crafting Smile

Email from courierpost this morning, so the phone is nearly here!  Not like me to get excited about a phone, but this time it is a 'project' and I do like a challenge.

Might be a bit of a delay though, my knitting induced sore arm has turned out to be a pinched nerve in my neck so I will be dealing with that for a while yet dammit. Been a while since I did anything silly like that, so I shall behave. Lots of rest and no more lifting to aggravate it till things settle.

This growing old thing is a pain.

Misty wetness here but mild temperature.

Not long to wait OHH  ant wait to see how your phone decorations turnout. Hope your pinched nerve sorts itself out soon too.

Feeling much better today the vacuuming needs doing so that will be my one chore for today.
Might even get to the sewing cave later. Still no word on my steam generator iron, when they phoned me last week to confirm the symptoms they had a new one. This silence doesn't bode well.

Enjoy your new oven KM, I had to keep notes on what level and function I used on my baking etc each oven has its own peculiarities

Got to move the sleeping k9 beside me and get on with the vacuuming

Enjoy your day

Good morning.

Overcast but warm .... "expecting/hoping for" rain. I did some watering yesterday to encourage it!

Glad you can start thinking post Covid again Mica ... the energy levels dictate what can/cannot be done for a while after!

Yes, a new oven requires a certain amount of experimenting, oven cooking is usually a lot faster. Happy days KM.

I agree the "growing old thing" is a pain .... literally, lol!

Enjoy jazzing up your new phone OHH. My most exciting courier parcels lately have been petfood!

We're off down south on Saturday to housesit and oversee teenaged gs for a couple of weeks. We can take advantage of son and family staying here to house/pet sit our place. Have been told the expected high next week is 6 deg  Undecided  Winter woolies dug out and in the 'to take' pile!

Coffee finished, better get things done.

Enjoy the day all.

My shoulder has gone out in sympathy OHH.. Buggered if I know what I've done to it. could have been heavy bottles I suppose. Its the one that I dislocated in 2004. And it hasn't hurt for quite a while.

I had an unexpected purchase this morning.. I went into the Warehouse for milk, only $3 a bottle and just in the door were some polyester throws. Red and Black.. I have wanted a red wrap for a couple of years and for $6 I thought it would be perfect.

It has blanket stitch around the edge. But cos I need to cut it for the neck, Im thinking of maybe changing the colour of the red stitching, if I can't find a matching red. Would have to go black if I wanted to contrast it cos no doubt the colour will run so white would end up pink.

Im going to take it to the new craft group that is starting up on May 3rd.

Bonus was the young man on the check out at pak n save for some reason didn't charge me for my bottles of water. I know he moved one in the trolley but didn't notice that he didn't scan it. Till I checked the docket.. So that nearly covers half the wrap cost.

Was talking to MrP and he fell over in the closet. He is shaken and achy, and a bit more skin off his left arm.. They are such a mess. He had a better sleep last night but did sound tired still.

Have decided to take fish and chips up for my birthday lunch so he is looking forward to that.

I've discovered that sheer stubborn bloodymindedness will get you through a lot of things.

Hope the shoulders come right ladies.

Have accomplished a lot today, mowed dreaded back lawn & then zipped over to get dog biscuits since they wouldn't fit with both another bag of (different) dog biscuits and spuds when doing groceries the other day, & while I was there got a Pokemon mug for a grandson's Xmas or birthday gift. Came back took Madame Le Dog for longer walk & then went online & managed to get three more birthday gifts ordered. There are so many birthdays now that I have to start early & keep on top of it - two next month.

And then mucked about with a few paintings because I decided that one was in dire need of a dead seagull on the house roof...they do seem to be getting slightly weirder. RIP, Jonathon Livingstone Seagull - but no one will notice it. What with the dragon. Smile
