Decided to make gingerbread as none left in freezer. Halfway through I remembered why I so seldom make it - finicky, fiddly recipe. And some has to be melted before being added so put butter, golden syrup & brown sugar in microwave to do that before adding to the rest of it & set about looking for my one & only stirrer which can safely go in the microwave.
Ended up scouring the entire kitchen, running about like a headless chook but no sign of the damn thing.
And then the microwave pinged.
Would anyone care to take a wild guess as to what I found in the bowl with the melted stuff...?!

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
