Oh that takes me back. We rented a ten acre farmlet backing onto a Lands and Survey block. The shepherd became a friend and started adding to my tiny flock of coloured sheep with his orphans, which I would pop into a carton by the Aga and hand feed. Soon as they were right they went outside with the other lambs and we built a feeder rack so I could have several bottles going at the same time. Then we had the fire, and as the fire brigade were dealing with that they accidently left the gate open and I had half a dozen hungry lambs amid the chaos...
It was an interesting time, lol.
