You can never have enough...
Morning everyone

Cloudy here too.

Im shopping locally today, dont need alot yay.

Success Madam Missy has used the litter tray with a 50/50 mix. She was good when I changed to crystals too. Ill finish using the part bag of crystals and then I think we should be safe.. I have two full bags of crystals which can stay for when I get my knee done, for my friend to have the option. The cost I think is going to be major cos she uses a 7 litre bag in a week.. It says on the bag One bag = 1 cat it lasts 6 weeks.. that has Never happened lol. She is a fuss pot and likes it to be clean. And so do I lol

I dont have my voting card yet, but thankfully the news has told me I can vote without it.. I mean how easy is it to hand over your license instead.. Ill pop in today I think to stay away from the crowds.

Have a fab day all

You don't need an ID to vote - all the easyvote card does is give the poll clerk the page and line number for you in the roll.
I do have other cameras!

I know, but if you have a tricky name to spell, just show them some ID and it makes it easy.

All you need to be able to vote is to state your name and address - or write it down.
The easy vote just makes it quicker as it has your place in the electoral role on it.   Other forms of ID won’t make it quicker  Smile
You still must state your name.

yep, I know I didn't need the card but it saves a bit of fuss and makes the election people happy.

The lawn is mowed except for the berm. I'll do that tomorrow morning. Five catcher loads and it's only been a week. I can see I'll have to switch to 'spring mode' with mowing and mow more often.

Time for the breakfast dishes to be done and to make a cuppa.

Popeye have you ever looked at those little tunnels that run off a cat door outside that would give Missy a little bit of dirt to toilet herself- every now and again you have to renew her patch but it’s much cheaper and easier - we had our cat in Oz contained it was much easier having the dirt box outside and he could go in and out as he pleased .Remember the lady on the old thread who manufactured cat litter
Might not need my voting card but what a waste of money - there is a lot of extra information in the pack which is useful and glossy pamphlet printing isn’t cheap - you would think after the census form debacle they could have got their act together
Beautiful day here

Having been involved with elections yes the voting card certainly makes it so much easier- and therefore the election people a lot happier.   Smile
Certainty not a waste of money as far as the people who have to scroll through pages and pages of electoral rolls are concerned. Being able to just turn to a specific page and line is so much better and quicker.
And no doubt those who do have them are happier with the line moving more smoothly

It took the woman who greeted me a minute, no more, to fill in the temporary card for me from my stated info, then another couple of minutes for the desk to look me up and do the voting form for me. Maybe a bit longer if you factor in my gossipy nature, lol.

Painless and worth the small effort required.

I did my good deed for the day while mowing the back lawn this morning. Somehow a mama duck & half a dozen ducklings had managed to get stuck behind the gate at the side - the ducklings were small enough to get through a gap at bottom but the Mama couldn't & some of the wee ones weren't going to go. So very slowly & quietly telling her it was all going to be OK I managed to open the gate very slowly. It took a while but eventually they all went through.
I think sometimes - if they're not too afraid - animals sense when humans are trying to help, however clumsily.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

I agree. If we move slowly, talk quietly, and keep eyes half closed most creatures seem to get more comfortable with us being around. Must be bird week!

And then I went straight passed and forgot to go in and vote lol.. Oh well Ill do it tomorrow since they are right next door to where MrP is, at the netball courts .

He had a rough night being sick with a little blood. So he was a bit rough on the phone. Not angry just tired and worn out. So hopefully he will be able to sleep some this afternoon.

No Missy is totally indoors. She's only been outside , well once that I know of but MrP thought she went out the day we moved, but it wasn't her.

Waste of money if they don’t get sent out - NZ post put hundreds of people off but obviously didn’t factor in they would have to hire casuals every now and again

Bear in mind this is NZ Post...

That said, there have been some magnificient efforts expended on my behalf today looking for a mislaid package containing more plants and even better - snails!

morning ladies Smile It's a bit bleak outside this morning.

lol OHH, I'm assuming the snails are for your aquarium! We've been stomping on garden snails and leaving them on the lawn for the birds. Within half an hour they have been cleaned up. Would much rather do that than leave snail bait lying around for the Furry One to find. And it's another way of encouraging the birds to stay.

My battery pruner is ready for pick up, they 'forgot' about us and hadn't even looked at it until I phoned. I've made a list of what needs cutting out or pruned and MrK asked if any garden would be left lol. We have a shrub borer has made its home in so that will be the first to go. And the suckers growing up from the cherry and a camelia also need cutting right back harder than the loppers can do. Yesterday I used the battery trimmer for the edges and omg, it was so quick! What would take me around 45 minutes took 15 at the most. And I can lift plants away from the edges and trim, not like when using a weedwacker.

Time to get cracking, I want to finish mowing the lawn while there is still cloud cover. It's much cooler and I don't care if the lawn is wet.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Wet here. A reasonable temp tho.

Annoying re the trimmer Kiwimade but thank goodness they have sorted it for you. Happy chopping lol.

Ill leave this here, Would it even be in the news if he was a Ngatai Pati Supporter. ? ( If that is how you spell it ).. Racism is well and truely here and its reverse I think.

Off to see MrP this morning. He tires easily so I wont stay long. He hasn't had Lollie's for two days so he will be happy to see those lol... I might as well take my Maceys wine gums up. I've had them for ages, but I simply dont eat between meals. So he can finish them off lol

I hope the rain blows through fast today, for the garage sale tomorrow. I went for the first time last year and it was massive, but alot was outside. so fingers crossed

Have a fab day everyone...

Ohh and Way to go to the Black caps.. Woohoo!!!!!

Yes, curled red ramshorn snails for the aquarium. I need them to eat and poo and breathe to produce more ammonia as I reach the next stage in setting up the tank. The ammonia feeds one lot of bacteria who turn it into nitrite so another kind of bacteria can turn it into nitrate and so 'cycle' the ecosystem inside the glass box and keep it balanced. That is why using a lot of plants is useful because as we gardeners know they filter a lot of the stuff we either need or can't live with - and fish need that same help. The process has started in my tank, I know that from my water testing, because I have some snails that have arrived by accident on the plants (and hatched into the teeniest babies who are now grazing the glass walls) but I need more big snails to feed the bacteria who will colonise the mechanical filter as well as the other surfaces. They only live for a few hours if there is insufficient food for them, so to have a stable colony I need more poop.

You really needed to know this first thing in the morning, right? (All this stuff is why a little aquarium keeps my brain cells alive...)

lol yup, OHH Tongue we definitely need to know this stuff!

The last of the lawn is mowed, I should have finished it yesterday. Now to tackle the housework, not that there is much but I like to keep on top of it.

It is trying my patience though. Which is a good thing, if frustrating. I have seen some tiny bright scarlet red fish at my local aquarium shop that I really really want to put in the tank... But they would die in there if it isn't ready for them. It's like being a kid with nose pressed up against the toy shop window...

They are going to look sooooooooo good!
