SO i've been working on a new website for the mb to replace https://tmmb.co.nz/, which is nice but needs more info, and it proved difficult to modify...

VERY unfinished - this is basically a get the ball rolling moment effort

Question:
Do we need a subtle background color on it or is everyone ok with white?  i find it a bit stark but that's just me -  we can put a background into the bordered area shown or the whole screen.  If anyone is good with color schemes and has any ideas let me know

Nothing is set in stone, everything is up for debate/suggestions/ alternatives, although rearranging the actual block layout is problematic.

The main image is the monument at the center of New Zealand - supposed to representative of the messageboard as middle of the political spectrum, everyone welcome kind of thing...

• A nice fancybox Gallery is being implemented on most images

I should add I am looking for more images for some of the galleries, if you are able to point me towards some.

Need to be

• iconic NZ themed
  
• available online and with a license such as creative commons, allowing us to reproduce with attribution
  
• or your own photo granting us permission to use
  

Galleries are...

• NZ Kiwiana - toys, brands etc
  
• NZ Iconic Places - eg the beehive
  
• NZ Wildlife -  eg kiwi and ?
  
• NZ Signs - real world, funny or otherwise
  
• NZ Flora -  iconic flowers trees etc
