Do you need a pass on public transport

Question
If not why not ?
They have to be a brilliant way of transmitting the ol covid.
You could easily have 6 strangers within 2m of you.
Coupled with air con helping to circulate it.

No. Masks are required. Seating is distanced. Passenger numbers are restricted. Entry is controlled. Payment is by card not cash. Driver is barriered.

And idiots still break the rules.

Not in ChCh.
Masks are required, but not everyone wears one and schoolkids pretty much never wear one.
Seating is not distanced, you would only fit a handful of folks on the bus.
Passenger numbers are not restricted, fill it up at peak time (except for 2 seats).
No controlled entry.
Cash is fine as well as the metro card.
Driver is not barriered.
We obviously live in very different worlds in our different cities.
That's why I asked the question  Smile

Yep
I go for a coffee, a restaurant etc, I have to have a pass and the staff keep the groups distanced.
I go to the local hardware store that usually has no one in it, I need a pass.
I hop on a bus or train and get jammed next to strangers, vaxed or unvaxed.
With or without passes.
One of the two situations are mismanaged.

Who do you expect to manage where you sit on a bus?
