Yeah, just checked again, and this company uses NZPost for rural. That is quite a price hike.
Be the kind of woman, that when your feet hit the floor each morning, the devil goes "oh crap, she's up".

I think you'll find that most courier companies subcontract their rural deliveries out to NZ Post's RD contractors. Check out the tracking (if accessible) details and the last item in most courier's delivery log is the handover to [location] rural, which is them dropping it off at a RD contractors pick-up point.

As I said earlier no charge differentiation is made on the rural surcharge (for NZ Couriers at least) relating to size or weight, just a standard amount.
