  Smart TV Dongle
Posted by: driftwood - 17-04-2025, 02:02 PM - Forum: PC World Chat - Replies (5)

Our bedroom TV was using one of the Freeview Decoders that is now defunct.
Rather than buy another decoder I was wondering about going the other way.

SmartVU SV11HD Android TV Dongle, with Netflix, Freeview Streaming TV, and more.

Anyone had any experience with, or could recommend something similar.

Teenager deported to El salvador no criminal history or gang ties

The Orange terror seems to have outdone himself with this one. The good thing is that it sends a very clear message about exactly what sort of creature their President is. Angry

Trump on dissent - "Don't, or else"..
Posted by: Lilith7 - 16-04-2025, 03:54 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (6)

Openly a dictator now apparently.
His nibs has got the pip with Harvard, & called on the university to apologise. Trump admin has demanded that the university eliniminate its diversity, equity & inclusion programmes & ban masks at protests.

He's treating people who disagree with him like 'the enemy within', & wants a federal investigation of people who worked in his first administration. He's also demanding free work from law firms who represented his perceived enemies, threatening to impeach judges, deporting campus protesters & more.

The sooner America removes Trump & his mates, the better.

  Trademe sales of laptops/PCs

Lots of them listed with Windows 11 that don't officially support it.  Some note that its not officially supported but a lot of them don't.

I suppose its no different than selling a laptop with poor specs that you know is going to be a dog...

American senator to travel to El Salvador in search of deported man
Posted by: Lilith7 - 15-04-2025, 01:49 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (5)

It would be good if they just released him, but that doesn't seem likely.

Senator Chris Van Hollen will travel to El Salvador to check on wrongly deported man if he's not rerturned by mid week. He's already writen to the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele & says if he isn't returned by mid week, he will go to El Salvador to check on his condition & discuss his release.

Govt hiding truth about hospital project
Posted by: Lilith7 - 13-04-2025, 02:32 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

It looks very much as if this delightful govt may intend to privatise health. Questions are met with poli-waffle & avoidance.

At its heart, privatising health would effectively mean that poor people would be unable to afford medical care, & therefore will be left to suffer & die - as quietly as possible of course, so as not to disturb wealthy people.
That sound callous, & similar to the dire American system which has caused people to become bankrupt in order to afford treatment -  and of course, die once they can no longer afford it.
But it does appear to be their goal, & you have to wonder how many charity hospitals we'll have before the cruelty of Neo Liberal, ism is finally removed from this country.

Dodgy Angry

Three so far.
