New Zealand as a safe haven for human and financial capital

New Zealand as a safe haven for human and financial capital

https://www.dentons.co.nz/en/insights/ar...al-capital

This is where the $5,000,000 that Peter Thiel paid comes from.

"Growth Category: Applicants must invest NZD 5 million in approved managed funds and/or direct investments and must spend at least 21 days in New Zealand over a 3-year period"

He's gay by the way so that probably lets him off the hook with the Epstein crowd unless Jeffrey had a side line going as well.

  Netanyahu speech, walkout
Posted by: Lilith7 - 27-09-2025, 11:45 AM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

Dozens have walked out as Netanyahu gave a U.N. speech. I hope our representative did.

He's none too pleased that countries have recognised Palestine as a result of the war in Gaza.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cderxxylpzdo

He claims that most Israelis support the war, despite massive demonstrations to the contrary & also claims to have hacked the smart phones of Hamas leaders & broadcast his speech to them, as well as military trucks near the border with loud speakers also broadcasting it.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/9/26...ob-in-gaza

He told the UN that Israel 'must finish the job' in Gaza.
He's facing an International criminal court arrest warrant for alleged war crimes in Gaza & had to deliver his speech to an almost empty area because most delegates left in protest as he headed to the stage.

NZ will not recognise Palestinian statehood

I'm not surprised at this in light of the amount of delaying and dithering we've seen coming from our government. While I can see how Winston has justified thin I can't help but feel that our government has wimped out big time by not using this as a demonstration of our extreme displeasure with Israel's ongoing genocidal campaign against the co-inhabitants of their region. Yet another case of NZ's policy  being dictated by the junior coalition partners as spineless Luxon sits back and lets them do whatever TF they want.

US Military in for a shakeup perhaps

Another break out the popcorn moment...

Quote:US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered hundreds of the US military’s generals and admirals to gather on short notice – and without a stated reason – at a Marine Corps base in Virginia next week, sowing confusion and alarm after the Trump administration’s firing of numerous senior leaders this year.

  Luxon wants voting speeded up
Posted by: Lilith7 - 26-09-2025, 03:44 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (4)

He claims the voter counters are 'the slowest folk on the planet'. The electoral commiision has told the justice commitee that the changes won't speed things up.

Interesting Treasury statement today. Some very drastic scenarios presented but no suggestion of CGT. Is this closed-mindedness?
