Mining. 50 million tonnes, every year. For 30 years. - Lilith7 - 17-05-2025 Our short sighted, greed crazed govt does it again. The delightful people pretending to represent us all have decided that its perfectly fine to stuff up the seabed for an entire 30 years. Expect significant retaliatory action against those embarking on it with property damage and physical harm very likely. RE: Mining. 50 million tonnes, every year. And it isn't just here, but all across the world idiots can't see past those dollar signe in their eyes & are prepared to destroy the home we all share in order to become wealthy. If the seas make oxygen & we manage to somehow muck it up then we're probably done for - but all is not lost, no not all. Those who are wealthy will be able to have coffins made of pure gold... ![]() Just how stupid are we... We don't need to mine, or develop gas fields. There are perfectly viable alternatives that do not escalate climate change or further exploit the natural environment. Solar panels on all public buildings, including transport hubs and parking building, subsidisies for residential installations of panels and heat pump hot water systems. Charging technology in new roading. Underwater turbines in coastal areas - Japan has some brilliant work underway on that... As for metals and plastics, improve recycling facilities.
