Smart TV Dongle
#1
Our bedroom TV was using one of the Freeview Decoders that is now defunct.
Rather than buy another decoder I was wondering about going the other way.

SmartVU SV11HD Android TV Dongle, with Netflix, Freeview Streaming TV, and more.

Anyone had any experience with, or could recommend something similar.

haven't used that one but i have setup a couple of console dish tvs for clients in the past - they seem to like them OK. and Dish TV have been around forever so they must be doing something right...
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

I've managed to get it to stream live tv through a Chromecast.
I'll see how successful that is.

Was the old one with an aerial connection that you want to retain?

If not, I’d get a google tv.  Little white thing.  Has chromecast ability if you want, but also a remote and apps.  Tvnz Ondemand is there I assume tv3.

Thanks, for that, but I'll just stick with the Chromecast for now.
Just means I have to use my android tablet as a remote.
The TV doesn't get much use anyway.

TV 1 & 2 come in the same TVNZ+ app. TV 3 can be  a little awkward -- We found it via the Entertainment Section. Its called ThreeNow. There is also Freeview ( under entertainment).
