He's a National plant troll and now he's got Alice to back him up or she is a female manifestation that heisenberg is in the process of constructing.

It's these hate filled people that intimidated Jacinda, we should do all we can to crush them and shame them for being so limited in their approach to life ie chasing after money as if it is the be all and end all, when obviously everyone needs a bit to survive but that little bit is hard to get when right wingers are trying to gather it all to add to their already large collection in most cases and upsetting the countries normal life for everyone by their greed and money grubbing when they are the aberrant individuals.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

Limitarianism may be the way of the future. No one needs bazillions fgs. Imo, no one should have either far too much or far too little.

Nah, joining them doesn't appeal to me. I think we'd be a very boring little backwater puddle if we didn't have a few spikey ones keeping us thinking. I like the challenge of countering their positions, preferably without going too low in response to the jibes.

After all they are as entitled to their opinions as we are to ours.

I just don't want to have to keep reading his right wing nonsense and his ill-bred way of conveying it.

Their opinions are obviously wrong and their inability to see that should disqualify them from posting anything which normal people have to read.

They are manufacturing an aberrant headspace which leads to a whole lot of bad consequences like the existence of the National Party. These people are only concerned with their own enrichment which leads to all the average citizens having to suffer as these ignorant apes grab more than their fair share and feel quite entitled to do so.

He's not listening to any arguments we make and is just here to troll us he has already said so and should be banned.

You could put him on your ignore list, although that doesn't filter out anything of his that someone else quotes. Still might be better than nothing.

Indeed, by his own admission his intention is to troll rather than engage honestly, as shown by his penchant for unsubstantiated claims that he refuses to back up or explain - because he can't, and he knows it.

I'm not sure there's much you can do to counter someone who's now made it clear their position is as a "turd on the lawn" (heisenberg's words, not mine) just to annoy others (aka trolling). Such people have no argument, nor do they have any desire for a rational debate or conversation, so there's nothing to counter. It's all just drivel.

Perhaps, but other people are entitled to express an opinion. Just as we are entitled to ignore them. No response to deliberate pokes is possibly the most frustrating treatment that can be dealt out to any attention seeker.

Of course they are, but intentions matter, I think, and there's a big difference between someone genuinely willing to express their views, and engage in a rational discussion about them, versus someone doing so in bad faith, someone who is only doing it to get a reaction to feed their own ego or to make themselves feel powerful, or whatever. I suppose those are the extremes - and most people probably land somewhere in between, though. Attention seeking specifically, I imagine may have different motivations entirely.

Additionally, I find it hard to believe that someone who acts like heisenberg would have actually formed their opinions on their own. The fact that heisenberg is unwilling to explain why he says what he says seems to suggest this; I suspect he is merely parroting certain talking points without much of anything behind them. At least Alice provides evidence for her opinions, dubious as that evidence is...

I knew someone who fell down a certain right-wing rabbit-hole recently, and you could not get an answer containing any thought from them. Just repetition of the same well-known lies, word-for-word, like they were reading from a script. No logical explanation of why they apparently believed what they did, along with not only a refusal to engage in any sensible discussion, but even going so far as to accuse others of refusing to engage with them - despite obvious attempts at doing so.

It was clear that the things they were saying were not an opinion they had formed themselves, just one they had picked up from somewhere - or had handed to them. In which case, was it really their own opinion being expressed in the first place?

I joined NZI in the early days, until someone revealed various facts of life about it that made me a little wary. It was a good alternative to the shut down of the TM boards in those days, but as time went on its character changed and I opted out. Then this place popped up, and was a better fit for me, for all sorts of reasons. It isn't a cess pool, more like a garden pond frequented by likeminded friends. And Alice, there is nothing wrong with that, it suits the majority, just as Issues suits its majority. We find our own communities, slagging off this one when you are a relatively new and occasional contributor is really more about you than us. As a young friend of mine likes to tell the adults in his life 'that's more a you problem' when faced with realities he is disinclined to consider.

Most of us get a great deal of pleasure from being a part of this community. That's why we come here. So do you obviously, it's just a different kind of pleasure. Each to his own eh?

So what? Respectfully, when some untrained puppy comes along and poops on our lawn we have a few choices. We can pick it up and dispose of it, we can watch and hope someone else will step in it, or we can accept nature will dispose of it in due course. Or we can try to rub the responsible perpetrators nose in it I suppose, though I have never found that to work. Some dogs just love pooping on other people's territory...

As Lilith often points out human beings are weird. Probably what makes them so fascinating.

So, another poster here claiming that Jacinda headed out of NZ with an outsized bank balance. Interesting claim from those that are detractors of her PM-ship. Where did you get this story from? Any reputable information from you or Heiny to support it? I won't be holding my breath for an answer on this  Rolleyes

Again, it is about personal choices, rather than actual facts. Belief is a personal choice, we all make it over things from foods to life partners, often based on very diverse life experiences.

I do not believe Ardern made off with millions, I do believe in vaccines, I do not believe in the tooth fairy, but I do believe trees are intelligent life forms...

Choices. Some rational, some mad. We pays our money and takes our pick...

Yes I also joined NZI when it began. Didn't much like the blatant racism & admin ignoring targeting so when i copped the second ban I decided that was it, & apart from dropping some music posts once in a while, I no longer bother.

A pity, as there were some really good posters there who weren't racist in their outlook.

Both the alleged 'Jacinda made off with bazillions' idea & the poster showing actual evidence seem extremely unlikely.... Rolleyes

I agree I would love to see the proof of nefarious goings ons there... of course she was going to come out of it with a load of money as PM as did every previous PM, but Ardern is not allowed to?

They're probably all pissed because she made a movie and probably made some money off it...

Well no, that doesn't work with actual dogs...

But humans on the other hand, are supposed to have enough intelligence to look at what they're doing and figure out if it actually makes sense... would be nice if people would actually do a bit of introspection once in a while, and see if what they believe has any merit or reason behind it.. but as you say, people can be weird, but that is often down to ignorance, or other problems.

It's not really normal for a healthy and happy person to deliberately shit on your lawn, so you have to ask, with someone like heisenberg, what's really going on? Trolling is a symptom of some underlying issue.

Exactly. As is being so addicted to this forum some of us went to extraordinary lengths to make a baby one to keep us going while this place was remodeled!

Self awareness is a fine thing, but hard work, and at times very unpleasant.

As for intelligence, it comes in so many forms, so many strengths and weaknesses, judging others requires a very particular kind of insight.

If people are idiots and are spouting nonsense in the form of beliefs and not facts we will need to point it out and then if they persist, banish them, because I don't want to have to read the same things that proven idiots are saying over and over again.

Rights have to be earned by proving veracity and integrity not given no matter what the offending participants are spouting as their nonsensical beliefs.

They have some sort of axe to grind and should be sent somewhere else to spout their meaningless drivel.

I think that Alice may be heisenberg in another stupid manifestation clone.

Perpetuation of the rat race is hardly a novel idea yet that is effectively what heisenberg is calling for and has already been shown to be a losing game in the end since it is one of the main causes of global warming.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche
