Almost everything we use is imported - apart from food. We older people rely on drugs to alleviate our ills - all imported. Very little clothing is made here, and few of the appliances we use. A life without the rest of the world would become uncomfortable, and short, very quickly.

More reasons to join the reuse, recycle, repurpose community. Thank goodness we have so many op shops and the repair cafe movement is catching on.

Now if we can just get industry involved...

That would definitely help - after all, there was a time when we produced lots of different things which we no longer do. And recycling stuff just makes sense.
