It still astonishes me how many people will willingly install a device in their home that sends everything they say back to some mega-corp to do who-knows-what with it.

Just like your Phones eh     Both Apple and Android.

Most modern TV's have some sort of smart Software, which sends data back regardless, so no difference really.

Speak for yourself. No iPhone here and I won't get another Android. Tried that when my N900 broke but wouldn't again. Next phone will be something like a PinePhone or anything else that runs plain Linux. Google is a privacy nightmare and can GTFO.

Same goes for TVs. Would never buy a smart TV. What's the point? I have an HTPC (running Linux) I can hook up to any display device, doesn't even have to be a TV. Speakers can be a separate HiFi system etc.
