The prevailing attitude amongst the powers that be is seemingly that a few old people dying of Covid each week doesn't matter as long as economic activity is the priority and the majority of the population doesn't care either way, if they even think about it, even though thousands died in other countries who maintained these beliefs through the Pandemic instead of doing what Jacinda urged us to do.
