Somewhere in their hearts (assuming they have such a thing) they must know that what they want is, if not racism then far closer to it than what's been achieved so far. Which would tend to make many ACT MP's hypocrites.
They're going to stop 'services based on race' - & using an Indian member, Dr Parmeet Parmar to do so.

Warning, contains footage of a politician. He seems very proud of having scrapped free GP visits for Maori or Pasifikica & sems to believe thbat will bring about equity

So let me get this straight, you think that by removing services by race, and instead providing them by need, that this is somehow unequal or unfair? Putitng everyone in the race basket is not only unfair, but divisive.
You could have people of any race that are in the same need as someone who is maori and they get excluded by race, that by definition is racist.
We are a multi cultural nation with a mixture of different races, everyone needs to be treated fairly and equal.
There are plenty of "white" people who cant afford a doctors visit for their child, but meanwhile all maori get a free run, even if the family can afford to do so.
ACT are taking a common sense no-brainer approach here.
"There are plenty of "white" people who cant afford a doctors visit for their child"
THAT would be the point fgs. To date, we have not had equity.
And the two words 'ACT' & commonsense don't really go together; they're attempting to increase the yawning gap betwen rich & poor that is what Neo Liberalism is about - greed.

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
