I've seen plenty of updates fail to install across everything from Windows 98 to Windows 10.

Hardly any fail to install on Linux. Unless it's something stupid, like you ran out of disk space.

Work this one out, last week a PC with Kubuntu was working as it should, the updates were downloaded as normal, one included a system "Upgrade" so let it run, at then said it needed to reboot ( all good so far it seemed) came back roughly 1/2 an hour later - Cant remember the exact error message but meant a lot of trouble.

In the end discovered the upgrade had wiped all partitions, and the drive was completely empty ??? WTF !!!  ( Only drive connected)

Reloaded Kubuntu, install confirmed no partitions -- Been running as expected ever since.

Great Upgrade-- Wipe the drive LOL.
Upgrades = Old bugs replaced with new Bugs.
