And what about your own ethics; y'know, stopping pay equity, unleashing possible havoc on the environment, running down our health system to the extent that nurses beetle off eleswhere in order to be able to survive while working?

What IS 'hurting patients' is the deliberate lack of funding - is that not also a lack of ethics? Dodgy Angry

do you know a nurses starting salary ?
Typically around $55K, dependent on region, OT and placement. Piss poor for a high stress skilled profession with antisocial OT demands.

My step son's partner is a nurse with close to 5 years experience who is working outside of the public health system because better pay and hours. That approach by many nurses is the prime reason public hospitals are struggling to attract and keep staff.

My sister is a nurse with a degree and close to 50 years experience working in an Auckland hospital in a specialist day clinic role. She is very scathing of the state of the health system, low pay rates and work difficulties caused by communication with immigrant nurses whose English is poor. A couple of years away from retirement and looking forward to it but feels for the workmates who will be responsible once she's gone.
