Solar farming
#41
Solar projects can provide a sustainable income source and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. I’ve seen firsthand how solar energy can benefit communities, both environmentally and economically. It's a cleaner option compared to intensive dairy farming, which often has more significant environmental impacts.

I'm sure they are.

I'm more interested in putting panels on my home than seeing huge solar farms pop up on farmland or natural areas.

As someone who has their own solar generation I'm always interested in chatting with others who already have, or intend to install, solar. What's your progress towards this so far?

I think rooftop solar is the future once it becomes more affordable which we now are at that point and its only going to become cheaper.
Solar farms have their place and depending on the situation, they are still being grazed with sheep around them to keep the grass down.
I would rather see such solar farms than wind turbines which in my opinion are more of a visual impact. Stock can still graze around the solar panels but at a lower density.
We have plenty of wasteland thats either not suitable for farming or pine trees, so is a good option to supplement our energy requirements.
I will be looking at putting panels on my roof too in the next 12 months or so.

Here is another article on the progress China is making, despite them being the worlds largest consumer of coal.
