Woke attempting to block woman's rights activist entering NZ
#81
Well no, as they were protecting their rights in their own territory. I note too that the loudest voices of censure are coming from 'foreigners', any criticism from here seems to be drowned out by the pride of supporters - pun intended...

An example of The Colonies Fight Back, perhaps? Big Grin

You may want to check where the protester who threw the tomato juice was from.

America even, where some states have banned abortions recently...

You could say the same thing of  the Trans Activists.  If they are so hell bent on making change perhaps they should also protest in those places?

They just want acceptance here in NZ, I don't think they are trying to change the world, unlike Ms Parker.
Eliana Rubashkyn is probably an exception given it's her job...

Appears she was born in Columbia - or did I read that wrong? And has only been in NZ for 8 years. I think I have shoes that have been in in NZ longer.

Not what I said...

But I am sure they'd want worldwide acceptance, though being sensible people they probably know such change is best started at home. Leading by example, one might say...

Btw, does having good manners matter whether a visitor is here by invitation or of their own free will?

We have lots of citizens from elsewhere, so many in fact those of us blessed to have been  born and bred here will soon be another minority.

She has at least demonstrated her intention to commit to this country, and hasn't cut and run the moment her position was aggressively challenged, unlike the Posey visitor.

Isn't it wonderful too how tomato juice washes out leaving no trace, unlike hurtful language, that can leave scars that last for years...

Acceptance was what I suggested, most of them aren't trying to change the world, maybe just a few of them.  The majority, like anyone else just want to be accepted.  Not be told they are somehow inferior by some foreign Nosie Parker.

and I think living in NZ for 8 years qualifies her to be considered a New Zealander... what a bunch of wankers NZ would be if we adopted a counter position to that...

"Isn't it wonderful too how tomato juice washes out leaving no trace, unlike hurtful language, that can leave scars that last for years..." Same behaviour as the violent Parliamentary Protesters. Will anybody be charged for assault???

It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

Fuck the use of 'we'... I didn't invite her. In fact I would put money on the results of a count to see who was in favour of letting her over the border, let alone issuing an invitation.

There is a certain arrogance in thinking she would be welcome here, don't you think?

But then, there's a lot of it about these days. Smile

That old saw has gone waýyyyyyyyyy past its use by date, as any child psychologist will tell you.

After all, think back to your school days - who do you remember most? The teachers who verbally abused you or the ones who never bothered...

We didn't invite her; she decided to come here of her own free will & she did so knowing what reception she was likely to get since that was made very clear to her.

And as to that old saying - total bollocks. This is closer to the reality:

"The tongue has no bones but is strong enough to break a heart."

There are numerous variation of the nursery rhyme with 'sticks and stones'.
An irony is that a most appropriate quote to describe the current media frenzy can be encapsulated Kevin Alfred Strom, American neo-Nazi, white supremacist, anti-semitic Holocaust denier, and lover of child pornography in 1993.
“To determine the true rulers of any society, all you must do is ask yourself this question: Who is it that I am not permitted to criticize?”
And in Australia Victorian MP Moira Deeming is fighting moves to expel her from the state Liberal party over her involvement in an anti-transgender rights rally where protesters from another group performed a Nazi salute in support.

No one is suggesting we cannot criticise. We are however suggesting that examining the motives of traveling agitators is worth the effort.

and who invited her exactly ?

Try and stop me at your peril I believe were her words to the PM - she got everything she deserved, including the humiliation...

True - she can't claim to not have had a reasonably good idea of what her reception was likely to be. And while I do think she ought to have been allowed to speak so we could all get a good idea of her views, she did herself a disservice by allowing the fascist boys at her rally in Oz. Whether or not that was by invitation isn't clear but that was never going to go down well.

The people doing the nazi salutes were NOT part of her group.   This has been clearly shown that they simply invaded the rally.

I was under the impression a local women's rights group had invited her to speak.  So I guess based on "she got everything she deserved" line youre OK with violence towards women?  Or violence to stop speech?  Do you also blame girls who are raped for wearing short skirts?  I guess you condone giving a woman a backhander if they get a bit lippy or fail to cook you some eggs?

King quite clearly said she got what she deserved.  So he is OK with the violence shown to her and her security.

A single screen shot is not proof of anything.  Show the entire clip if you know where it was of course.
