The rot really starting to set in now. And this from Labour's preferred posters so it will be interesting to see the One News and Roy Morgan polls.

Thank god (or is it dog?) you are here to save us . . .
(Or are polls suddenly more reliable than a weather forecast?) I reckon horoscopes are more dependable by a factor of (approx) 972:1 if the polls are having a good day.

Why not? They are very useful as target practice.

Yeah, no value as targets, they're just too easy, but for setting the sights, it is handy to have something slow moving.
For stationary but otherwise realistic targets, you still can't beat ( though many folk wish to) help desk (in)operatives in public "service" positions.
Where's my foil hat?

NZ first has also risen on the polls back to 4%, so I wouldnt rule them out from getting back into govt. Could be a difficult situation for National and Act if they need them to form a government.
Going to be very interesting to see the outcome of this election indeed, but it looks like all the small parties are going to be the biggest winners.

Luxon appears to be courting elderly white supremacists now - presumably to stave off NZ First.

Not a good look. They'd all do well to avoid idiot extremists of all kinds.
Not a good result but election day's the one which counts.
If any party had the guts to say they'd make a start on changing our unfair Neo Liberal system they might be overwhelmed with support from the majority who've suffered because of it but none of them seem able to manage it.

Hopefully NZ First wil get 4.95% of the vote.

Which would be almost as amusing as a Winston campaign speech.

I do wonder what communication method these polling companies use to source their numbers from.
Landlines are no longer fit for purpose as they are increasingly the realm of the older and more well off members of our society.
Written surveys submitted by post definitely isn't going to include the younger voters as they've long since written off snail mail.
Cellphone is problematic and probably not useful as there is no reliable way to filter the poll in terms of location/electorate.
Over recent elections the results increasingly differ widely from what the pollsters predictions have been, so placing any reliance on any of the media related pre-election polls seems a leap of faith. As a politician a few years back said "the only poll that counts is the one on voting day".

YES we are indeed governed by a bunch of cowards, all of whom lack the necessary grit to firstly SAY very clearly what they'll do to make a ( very large) start on removing Neo Liberalism here & then if elected DO what they've said they will.
That would almost be worth the resulting heart attacks up & down the entire country from the sheer shock of politicians actually doing what they'd told us they'd do.

"Some change was definitely needed back then. Forty years on, we must evaluate what worked and what didn’t.
The results are stark. We find ourselves overworked, unhappier, unhealthier, lonelier and more unequal and divided as a society.
Enough time has passed that we can now state that poverty, inequality and pollution aren’t bugs – they are in fact features of the system.
With our own election less than 100 days away, is anyone questioning this broken “business as usual” economy and proposing to install a new operating system?"
Time for change. Surely one of that lot can summon up the needed courage.

Yes, all of this. And another aspect is that these days many of us don't answer mobile calls from unknown numbers because we are wary of scammers and other nuisance calls. This skews the data in favour of older people and computer-illiterate people, who tend to inhabit the same mindset.
