Picked up the new specs, so far, so good.
Also did a bit more hunting & got a xylophone each for the great granddaughters for xmas, a simplified one for the littlest one. Their mum has only herself to blame...I did suggest a drum each, to which she foolishly said 'go on then'...& I did look quite hard at drums, it was SO tempting!
But then I remembered what toddlers with noisy toys can do & decided to be merciful.
And since they were on special & I was feeling so very virtuous & had a bit left over & the jeans I'd been looking at were coincidentally also on special, I got them as well.
And now, I'm completely knackered so might do scrambled egg for dinner.

My kid did not need a drum. She found out how to open the pot cupboard. At 2am. Light was no problem, she opened the fridge freezer...

Resourceful little sweetie darling, wasn't she....
Years ago when my kids were small, a friend gave one of them a trumpet for their birthday. Back then, they were extremly loud.
So for their child's birthday I gave him a drum.
A tin drum. Very, very noisy - they don't make them anymore.... can't think why.

Yesterday, Monday, in a burst of enthusiasm - having discovered my showerhead was kaput and a visit from a plumber would be imminent, I did a bit of housework. Unusual stuff, but satisfying - cleaned the rangehood and polished taps, that sort of thing. Then vacked. Flat all shite and briney I took the bin up the hill to the road and on the way back did my once a week letterbox clearing, only to discover a tenancy check scheduled for Tuesday, and a building survey visit for Wednesday, notices given a week ago.
The universe obviously broke that showerhead on purpose.

lol OHH, that was meant to be, for sure.
Two days of cooped up grandson... time to burn some energy off.
Tomorrow the book fair kicks in, can't wait to stock up on books.
Might have some time to work on the jacket later on today.
Happy crafting

You are good at Xmas shopping in advance Lilith ... I wish I was!
Looking like a good day to let off steam KM ... boys are not good at confinement!
No plan today ... catch up with family later ... they head home Thursday. The holidays are flying by.
Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone
The sun is out here, hopefully it will be another beautiful day. It was meant to be heavy rain yesterday but we didn't get any.
The blardy cabbage trees are starting to flower. My head is telling me. My antihistamines usually cope but not at present.
The baking was loved so thats good. I was worried about the peanut brownies cos I know Diannes mother in law used to make nice ones..
A potter about the house day today.
Have a fab day all

Looks like wet tomorrow, so I will do a library run today and get some vegies to boost the grocery shop which is up for delivery late this afternoon. I like online shopping, but prefer to select my own veg, especially seeing our New World seems a bit eager to buy in tier two vegies, so it pays to be a bit careful. Silly really seeing P'nS is the same company but has much better quality veg and prices. Pity they are too far for me unless I score a lift with someone, the local one really has a captive market.

Had successful excursion into city.
Four library books, lunch at McDonald's and trip to Whitcoulls. Seems I set a precedent buying him a book the past 2 trips lol. He did have 3 books he would like but accepted that he could only have one. As luck would have it was half price when I paid. Have taken note of the other titles. Doesn't hurt to have a wee stash up in the cupboard.
I see Richard Osman has a new book out We Solve Murders so will be off onto library website after I click post here.

That was a bit of luck with your shower head Hunni.
Did the dreaded groceries & planted the last tomatoes & a couple of pumpkins, fingers crossed they survive. Haven't had many beans come up & I suspect someone has perhaps been doing a bit of digging out there; both Madame Le Dog & Madame Le Cat profess innocence. Of course they do...

Good afternoon - we have had amazing weather in the Bay - getting very dry actually could do with some rain
I periodically get a message on my iPad from Apple advising there is a software update - one popped up yesterday so clicked over to settings - notification from Apple my account was locked as somebody in the UK had attempted to use it - my two iPads were listed - so I clicked on the next page - asked me to verify my phone number - instantly received a code on my phone and that’s when I should have smelled a rat as my apple iPhone should have been listed with my iPads and locked - keyed the code in and up pops we need you to confirm this is your credit card by keying in the security code - instantly logged out and contacted Apple - it’s a new scam - they were wasting their time the only card linked to my Apple account is a Prezzy Card with a $100 limit which I use for online - has no link at all to my bank - I had used the card to buy some wool from Lovecrafts in the UK so am presuming that transaction had somehow caught the scammers attention
Seeing the kids on Stuff today with their huge packs trudging through the bush upset me - don’t like criticising the police but once again they seem to have reacted very slowly - they would have gone along way in 13 hours
Went for morning tea yesterday at the Polytechnic - the trainees had been experimenting with free product - they have access to as many Weetbix as they can use - Sanitarium pay no tax as they are supposedly a charity so the kids are taking advantage - they had made a really yummy walnut and raisin loaf with Weetbix they gave me the recipe it’s a good one for a lazy cook like me all in the bowl at once -trays of Afghan instead of individual I also enjoyed - Goodman Fielder donated bags of scone mix - just add water - they had made heaps of different scones using vegetables the kids won’t know what they are eating - evidently it’s available at the supermarket have asked Robie to bring me some - again my style of baking !Its working out so well at the polytechnic compared to the pig swill the contractor is supplying for $20 a head - unfortunately the contract couldn’t be cancelled so the school is disposing of it .The trainees are learning heaps especially about budgeting

No, I'd rather not, thanks very much.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

I have corned beef burbling away. I think boiled new potatoes - the tiny ones, and green veg with a parsley sauce. And tomorrow it'll do for salad, fingers crossed we get another day like today. Cool but sunny, it was very lovely in the village today.
And I got asparagus too. But discovered it is a tad limp in the stalk as I prepped it for the cool drawer. Bloody supermarket. I should've gone to the fruit shop, but I am scrambling to get as many stickers as I can before the promo finishes next week. I do like those Kitchenaid glass boxes.
And still no shower head fix. I spotted a couple of nice ones in the hardware shop (white busy lizzies in the bargain bin!) at $33 each. Should've bought one and cancelled the landlord's plumber...

morning ladies An overcast and grey start to the day.
Asparagus has finally started to come down in price, MrK is happy.
Went to the supermarket with grandson yesterday, I had forgotten what it was like shopping with an eight year old lol.
Today is the book fair and MrK needs a blood test done. Fingers crossed the weather plays nice while we are out and about.
Madam Alfred is one of the first roses to bloom in spite of being moved. Tough tart that she is.
Time to get breakfast organised

Morning everyone
Wet here, not cold tho.
My first year in 35ish that I wont be buying asparagus. MrP loved it. Just butter for him. lol
The Annual historic school Garage sale is this weekend. Ill see if I can afford to go. The school isn't used as a school but they are restoring it. Its going to be beautiful. Only 2 rooms with an opening wall. not sure of the age.
Blardy weather has just put the tv out..
Painting today so Ill get wet at their end. I love being able to get in and out of the car in the garage.
Been thinking about getting a boarder, or perhaps moving into a boarding situation. Its the only way Ill be able to get a life. Instead if existing till I die. Not something I ever thought I would do but Just looking into it for now. And I have an idea which could help me and someone else who due to work and trips needs a dog sitter.. I'll bring it up next time I see him.
Only about a 1/4 of my Blue Poppies to do now. A friends parcel from Temu arrived yesterday, she got me a couple of paintings and I had ordered a couple as well. So I have enough to get me into the New Year so I miss the Christmas Post. She did say a friend wants some too and is expecting me to do the order.. But Im going to say no. Im no ones secretary..!!
Have a fab day everyone

Finally finished Dr Seuss - couldn’t lay it out properly peg legs playing up and would most likely have ended up face down if I had persisted

My eldest son in his late 40s has asked if he can have it - he still has all his Dr Seuss books we used to read together and he in turn has often read them to his kids
