Morning everyone
Yep super early, drs appointment is 8-30 am lol
WOW Jan they are and will be Beautiful. Treasured memories for you all. And the amount of work and love gone into them is amazing. Future Heirlooms too.
I just cant follow crochet patterns, it just looks like Gobbildy Gook to me. Could be written in hieroglyphic's for all that my head can make sense of it
As Im making blankets , and for many many people I often think, no one has ever made me one.. well I did get the magic square one Mum knitted, but that got moth eaten. but I've never been made a nice crochet one or any sort of crochet or knitted stuff. lol
Off to the home after the Drs and Blood.. oops my INR was 4.3 on Friday. Stupid Dr says take no warfarin and then lower the dose. I NEVER dont take any. So I took 2mgs on Friday and dropped to 7.5.. he should know that about me by now. I have a list for todays appointment lol.. he might be on time for my appointment but I bet he wont be after that.
Have a fab day all
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies It looks pretty grey out there so far. We had sooo much rain overnight.
Jan, your blankets are stunning, I can see why they are loved so much. Your designer is very clever at what she does. I prefer to follow crochet patterns that are diagrams rather than written instructions and have to reverse them being left handed.
I'm another that needs something in my hands to work on. It saves my sanity as well. The garden is my other happy place. Embroidery and the garden got me through the lockdowns.
OMG, popeye. 4.6! That's high! MrK has also had to fiddle around with his warfarin thanks to a new med he is taking. He alternated his dosage to get it right. His usually goes too low though.
I need to pop into town today, there are a few things to donate to the op shop and a couple of things needed from the supermarket.
Happy crafting

Morning all
Heavy rain and wind all night still persisting and chilly.
Beautiful work Jan I haven't tried to follow a crochet pattern one day since my thumb gives me gip if I knit for too long.
Lovely day catching up with my cousin and his wife yesterday
DH has appointment in city later this morning not sure what I will get up to this afternoon.
It's fun to have fun but you have to know how

Good morning.
Grey here as well, with very wet ground.
Lovely work Jan. A lot put into those blankets ... they will be loved and appreciated.
If I don't have handcraft parked beside me, there has to be a book instead!
The school run is done and the day is mine until pick up. Always a few nerves on the first day back until they see their friends
My sweet peas popped up with the rain last night and I have scattered some slug bait. Baby tomatoes forming as are the blueberries.
Enjoy the day all.

Lovely work Jan, I especially love the blue one.
I did used to crochet & knit years ago but got too busy & lost the habit but happy to just play around in an old photoshop instead.
Sun was out earlier but its beetled off now & turning colder.
Madame le Cat outdid herself last night. She knows that usually of an evening I move from the chair at the computer & sit on the couch, at which point she grabs the chair.
Last night she dcided that the human just wasn't getting off her chair early enough so she got her furry little paw on a hellokitty ornament which grandson brought back from Japan, & flicked it onto the floor.
Alas, it backfired because the human could reach down & simply put it back. But she was not about to give up, she wanted her chair & the human must be made to understand that it was time to move. The next ploy was sitting on the desk glaring at human.
Nope, didn't work. Clearly something more obvious was needed. So, under the desk she went, in an attempt to squeeze herself onto my knee...turns out that she's just a wee bit too chunky to comfortably fit...but a claw inserted into human's knee worked a treat. Human yelped & possibly may have sworn slightly but got the message.
Computer off, chair vacant.

4.3 Kiwimade not 4.6.. lol Id be freaking out at 4.6..
Its 2.5 today, Bang on perfect for my valve. Waiting to hear what dose to take.
Dr wasn't bothered too much about the Lymph nodes, I was right they get inflamed. He said I've sprained my Roto Cuff, rest and no lifting, yeah well that's the hard bit lol
And he apologised for not referring me to the Surgery Department, but took a photo and was sending it off.
And Yes You CAN be the First appointment and he be late. It was 8-45 when I went in lol.. but I got the works done. He asked me was I Trying to lose weight lol.. I said Only another 7 kilos then Im done lol.. but I also said I wont be stopping the empagliflozin cos then I'd not be able to afford the food I would want to eat lol.
I think Im the only one I know that got through lock down without being bothered by it. Im definitely a home girl.
Actually we planted a seed in Davids head today. He has a nearly self contained flat at his new place, so Dianne managed to drop major hints.. He was in a good mood and managed to keep up with us. And he needs a dog sitter so that could work.
They had 80's music playing so we were all tripping down memory lane. It was fun. Didn't sit with Colleen or Annie at lunchtime, we took mum up to crafts and stayed there lol.
Stay on same dose and retest in a week Phew lol

I have a friend who, on the death of her husband a while back, has become even richer than she was before. It has made her life very complicated. And then I read this phrase in my current romance novel - "Advantages can trap you. Just as disadvantages can."
The author is right. I like being of limited means, it simplifies life. I have had other kinds of means, but I was never this content. This secure. It might be other factors as well, but the feeling is rather lovely. Aging isn't all bad, some days, when it means getting a bit wiser.

I dont enjoy being broke, but I also know that Im usually broke after getting everything I need.
Im doing well . I had $2-65 after groceries on Thursday. I spent $1-21 today for Ham and a Banana so I can get the same on Wednesday.
Im not starving, I might not be eating enough meat at the mo, but Ill never starve.
I would like a bit more life tho. Or to be able to buy something I want rather than need. And not have to juggle money so well.
but I get there.

Popeye do you have a social supermarket in your area - you could go there and get some nice meat for the week - farmers and Foodstuffs are donating meat through the meat processors - the one here packages it up for pensioners and single or small families - it’s really good quality meat - you just go in with your card and shop like at the supermarket- it’s brilliant instead of getting a box of stuff that isn’t really suitable .They have plenty of veggies and fruit as well - doctors nurses are handing out the cards to stop the buggars who ripped the system off when it first started .I don’t eat a lot of meat but it is nice when I fancy it
Just heard 4 staff from the film commission went to Cannes for two weeks to the film festival and spent $645,000 tax payers money between the four of them - that’s two low cost houses for families living in temporary accomodation

It is irritating in the extreme when entitled pricks like these take advantage of the system. How come Mr Seymour isn't after them?

morning ladies Looking good so far outside.
I've just been reading about a motel in Hamilton that was used for the homeless being reduced to an abandoned, meth addled, wreck with squatters. The owners are complaining the managers have walked away from their contract and left them with a worthless property. Surely, as landlord, they would be checking their asset?
MrK has an appointment at Waikato this morning. Our doctor found a teeeeny tiny melanoma at his mole check. How she saw it, we'll never know lol but boy she is good. So back to Waikato we go even though she sent them photos and can remove it herself. It's a consult only appointment and we will ask if she can do the removal.
Tonight, we must remember to look for the comet that is zooming by. Look for Venus and then down towards the horizon just after the sun sets. We can see Venus every morning in the summer from our bedroom and dining room in the winter.
The roses are beginning to bloom, Westerland <3 will be next with Lady of Shallot next. It's so good to see colour back in the garden. And the clematis I dug up to pull the weed tangled with its roots out, is growing like crazy. We're waiting for our fencing contractor to come and do some more fence repairs before I can plant more climbing roses along it. The fence is becoming a tad wobbly and needs some new posts. Apparently, the fence posts were from a bad batch of treated timber. Just our luck. If it's not one thing, it's another.
I'm having a tutu with cut work and working on a butterfly. It's still a learning thing but makes a change from long and short stitch
Happy crafting

Good morning.
Blue sky and sunshine with a breeze, expecting 21 degrees today.
An appt this morning and might check out a large 2nd hand book/toy/games shop while in the area.
Yes, I read the same article KM. No sympathy for the owner, just get themselves there ... tidy up and demolish!
Lilith your puss sounds a real character. I miss my boy but had my cat fix yesterday when I encountered the friendly neighbourhood puss and school cat for pats/purr session.
Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone
The sun is out, but its cool. Im considering putting socks on at night, my feet seem to get cold lol.
I haven't heard of Social Supermarket being near Jan. We have a couple of Kai Cupboards but They aren't supported much by donations these days. Typical that someone would figure out a way to rip them off.
I actually listened to Luxon this morning. He thinks he is helping NZ.. Well he wants to think about those who cant work, dont have a mortgage or kids, so the tax cuts miss us too.
He wants to try living on $55 for your food , gas and try and save for things like Tyres or any emergency. They spoke about food grants, well you have a limit on those too.
My biggest grumble for the day is being a "Non" Māori.. Im not a Non anything. I not a Non smoker, cos I've never wanted to smoke, I'm not a Non Māori, Im a Kiwi. I hate being classed as a Non anything.
A bit more washing since its nice and fine today, I'll load the dishwasher.. I only have 10 tablets left so making sure I have a full machine before I use it.. I always knew my love of Dinner sets would come in handy lol.
Painting and more Crochet later. Im over half way on the blanket, but found myself nearly falling asleep with it in my hands last night lol
Have a fab day all.

Done quick dash around house vacuumed tidied up now waiting for DH to return from his 8.30 appt.

Well, I woke up to a nasty surprise this morning, lol. Over the weekend I robbed my fritter account to pay for a bargain on TM, which was fine, except this morning I woke to an email fromSpecsavers advising they had debited my account for the three monthly contact lens order because I had altered the regular dates and got the order out of sequence with super. So slight panic but I knew I had emergency money stashed, went to my bank account to transfer to cover that debit, only to find the bank had swiped the last personal loan repayment a week ahead of time, and the current account was even worse off than expected. Rotten sods, lol. So my current account is in the red for the first time in years, and a quick note has gone off to the ANZ asking them why they are giving me conniptions on a Tuesday morning...
I have to laugh though, typical isn't it? If it aint one thing it's another! And there was me, really looking forward to that last loan payment and being debt free again!

I suspect that the govt knows about those who can't work for whatever reason; they just don't care because those people aren't wealthy enough to donate to their party & will almost certainly never vote for them, so they're not bothered.

I hate it when things like that happen, OHH. That's pretty rude of them to take the money a week ahead of time. And yes, if it's not one thing, it's another... like our fence lol. And one thing leads to another too. Our new loo is smaller than the old one so the vinyl needs replacing and the wall painted. And all because the old water pump died, and the new one has stronger water pressure. The last two years has been a nightmare replacing and repairing things.

Oh gee - I dunno. Maybe because they donated to his idiot party...?
