Scouting this morning, (new great grandchild expected next year,so latest addition will be a big brother) so looking at clothing for newborns & found a few possibilities but want to look further afield before I decide.
Came home & managed a bit more dreaded weeding - I loathe weeding so have to force myself to get to it & by the time I'd finished all that decided I was far too tired to cook so fossicked about in cupboard & found a packet of one of those noodle thingys you can chuck in the microwave so that will be dinner tonight with a few mushrooms & things added.

The sun is out but the wind is cold.. not cool but cold. Nuts this weather being all over the place.. lol
Had a nice time at the home, But Dianne and I are not allowed to take our own lunch in and sit with Mum and the other daughter, we would have to go to our normal dining room. Honestly they are a breeding ground for anger, dividing people and preventing them from having friends or family. The residents are only allow one person in f or the Family Christmas dinner. its rediculous.
We know Mum would prefer to have us all in our lounge. So We will organize it and perhaps get her Sisters and nieces in too.. Mum can have the homes Christmas dinner, and we can bring our own.
Washing is on, dishwasher is working, the handwash stuff tomorrow.. Managed to drop a tiny glass mixing bowl as I was loading the dishwasher. Managed to get it all without getting cut.. Of course in Bare feet. And I can hear GrandmasSue from TM telling me off for having bare feet.. If only she could. But then she would be with her beloved so Ill imagine she has told me off.
Got complimented twice on my new to me twin set I got last week at the Oppie. Skirt and top for $8.
I have a little less than a quarter of my picture left so I hope to get that done over the weekend
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies We're supposed to have rain on and off today, I guess I'll be weeding between the raindrops. I also hate weeding, but they are getting away from me again and needs must.
It sounds like that resthome has a power complex not letting families stay for Christmas dinner. I understand the cost and everything but if families were happy to pay, then why not. The sceptic in me also wonders if they just don't want people to see the type of food they serve.
Eight more sleeps before the Fluffy One goes home. I'm going to talk to my sister about her staying here. She's a danger to MrK getting under his feet all the time. She has a habit of walking right in front of you as you are walking and sometimes just stops. Neither of us want broken bones.
I see our local haberashery/craft shop is advertising perle threads now. It's a brand I am unfamiliar with so will have to try them out of course. Lovely colours too and some variegated.
Time to get cracking while the day is nice and calm.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Grey but dry so far.
Oh for the Family members its $20 for lunch.. Was talking to Dianne last night and we are thinking about having our own lunch a week later.
Dianne lives the furtherest from the home, 3 of us live in town. So Im sure with a short discussion we could organize it. And yesterday we were talking about taking our lunch out into the middle courtyard.. So we could do that too..
Dianne came to pick up a parcel after being at the home yesterday. Cos she is rural it costs extra for parcels And she noticed there was still some mint growing. She was saying her eldest son when little used to go out and pick the leaves and chew them when he was really little.. so she pulled a few young plants out. Will plant it in memory of her son who died at 20.
A few dishes today then Im painting. Have done the washing and a load of dishes and vacced the floor so once the kitchen is sorted I will paint.
Have a fab day everyone

I have been totally self indulgent and bought myself a birthday present which is being delivered this morning. I have all digits crossed that it doesn't turn out to be a total disappointment, but we shall see. A nice silver day out there, so time I got active, just a little housework left to do then I rather fancy reading the rest of the day away, maybe I will finish this rather long winded Anne Rice I am halfway through...

One garden weeded and the lavatera tamed. Took twice as long lol but it's done. Will weed again tomorrow. Just being outside is good for the soul. I have a semi-plan in my head for where one of the big trees was, it will give me something to think about for a bit before any final decisions are made. My friend texted as I was putting the fork into the ground asking if I was behaving myself lol. Ummm yes, I rest when I need to and just doing some light weeding
Time for lunch. There's some vogels in the freezer so might have some of that. Will have a rummage in the fridge and see what else there is.

There is a short film free on youtube while the US campaign is on, 'Red, White, and Blue'. It is worth watching. It has a twist, and it made me so glad I live in a civilised country.

That was brilliant, certainly didn't see that coming. Should perhaps be required viewing in America.

So quietly done too. Despite making me cry, I am glad I watched it. Beautifully done. As someone who has been there I was grateful for that very light touch.

So not just me looking for tissues then.
I hope it does win an Oscar.

wow, crying here as well. I kinda guessed what the twist was, and it just sickened me. Thank goodness our reproductive rights are now protected under a health law here. Very powerful.

morning ladies Another calm start to the day so more weeding can be done.
It looks like we're having new neighbours moving in next door shortly. A family with four kids Hopefully the weather will hold out for them, nothing worse than moving house on a wet day.
We're having a quiet day today, no plans, just pottering about.
Happy crafting

Bit blowy out there, the Spring winds have arrived. It is strange the way wind affects some of us, it irritates me and my temper gets short. Even worse when it whistles or howls. Fortunately it is just the rustling leaves kind today and I can deal with that. From inside!

Good morning.
Sunny and windy.
Quite a few random fireworks last night, some very close. I fear the real noise is being saved until GF ... great for those getting up to work next morning! No little dog here to be a terrified, trembling mess at least.
Will watch that film clip later. Hopefully not TOO sad.
Our new neighbours will also be a family ... 2 teen girls. Be nice to see new faces and not the grouch who owned the place.
Not sure what the plan is today. Will continue on with the felt decorations later ... good to have handwork in front of TV. The hard part is threading the needle, lol.
I agree the garden is a good place to relax and have the mind and body recharging.
Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone
Its dull and windy here. I dont think the rain is far off.
Will Watch later, but then I may just bury my head in the sand. I do that sometimes as a self preservation thing.
Had a late night. Hence being slow this morning. But I will finish the cat today. I have to admit up close its hard to see but from a distance its Awesome. I think I kept the frame part of the picture that MrP broke the glass in. So I might see if I can dismantle it and turn it into a rectangle. That way both cats will be in the same white frame.
I have 3 other pictures pressing to straighten them out. They come rolled up, so you need to press them first. I have a box and some old books doing that job.
Maureen's house has been done up but no sign up for sale or anything yet. Im the only one on our drive that doesn't have kids or a dog. And I'm also the eldest on the drive I think now too.
A lazy day here. Ill be painting.. I cooked a proper dinner last night but also did extra potatoes so I might get some bacon out and have that with some of the potatoes fried. Keeping some for a toasted Sammie tomorrow. Another thing Dianne and I have in common. They dont eat much bread either, and when its not so fresh the toasted sandwich maker comes out, no waste in our houses.
Have a wonderful day everyone

A bit more weeding done, slow and steady wins the race Only the middle bit of the garden to weed and that's the worst of it done.
My hands and feet are constantly cold, a side effect of the meds. Might have a chat with my doctor about them.

Morning everyone
Cant see outside yet lol... But the sun is up so its a good start lol
Did the back lawn yesterday, was nice out in the sun. not overly hot either.
Finished my picture at 9pm last night. I Love it. will upload some photos later.. Im thinking about taking it up to show the girls. will depend if its going to stay fine tho. I dont want it getting wet. I kitted down. Which empties the containers for the next picture. Have to decide which one tho. I have the multi picture, the mandala and some pansies pressing. Thinking I should do one of the 5 panel set and do others in-between. But it will also mean having two pictures kitted up at the same time.
I discovered a passionfruit vine growing in my massive container with the daffodils and old violets. Dianne was talking about them on Friday , so Ill find out if she brought one or not, and she can have this one. If I was sure about staying here Id grow it myself.
Have a fab day all
