Morning everyone
Fine here at the mo.
Had really black clouds last night but it didn't rain.
David brought Max and Bella around for a visit and for me to meet Max. Oh he is one handsome goofy faced boy. Definitely has bull mastiff in him. He has a Massive head and the biggest tongue I've ever seen on a dog. lol He was excited to meet me, so I sat in the doorway of the van and he simply layed down beside me for cuddles. David said later he got a big dinner for being so good.
I haven't been out since Friday, so it will be interesting to see what all the trucks and machinery have been doing somewhere close to home. I've heard them all day. They are supposed to be moving the pedestrian crossing by the school so I wonder if its that.
Painting today. And Im taking my pictures up to show the ladies. David loved the pansy one I was finishing when he visited.
Have a wonderful day everyone
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Good morning..
Another fine day ahead. Watering needed and done last evening.
Our new neighbours have started to move in. The driveway will be a lot busier again.
Yes Bunnings an enjoyable place, that reminds me DH has a gift voucher for "us" to use
Much excitement in your 'hood OHH. I hope the bike owner gets an undamaged bike returned!
Will get outside today, the plump blueberries need their cover on, the sweetpeas some more "hanging on" training and the tomatoes tieing and nipping. The new dahlias are out of the ground nicely ... except one (they are guaranteed).
Enjoy the day all.

I bet that woman was well pleased too, Hunni - lucky she struck someone with a similar daughter!
After all yesterday's activity I somehow managed to stay awake, glad I did as last night's Electric dream story was a good one, more sci fi than veering into horror or action, thankfully.
Posted off DIL's birthday parcel this morning so that's both DIL's birthdays done, just eldest granddaughter now before Xmas.
Got front lawn done earlier & have the clippings drying in the sun for later use.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Was so good to be back at the home today.
Sneaking around with Dianne's birthday card lol. To get it signed.
Painting was good. I did a dozen more bells for the trees. They were giving away some canvasses from paint by numbers that no one wanted to finish, so I have some. Ill join two large ones together, paint around the edges and will glue my five piece picture on once I've finished doing them. They are dark pictures. As much as I dont really want to use black paint, I might have to, to cover the colours already on them.
There is a new house over the back. I haven't looked from the outside yet, but I saw it on my way home today. Would have been fun to watch it being lifted over the front house. I saw another being lifted over a front house down the other side of town. Amazing how precise they can be. But that explains all the sounds Ive been hearing.
Swapped one of my Diamond paintings with Colleen, her grand daughter loves hedgehogs so I got one of her velvet paintings.
David suggested I gave one to the home... not happening lol.. But if he wants one done he can buy it, Ill do it for him. Then he can give it to them.
One of the Good staff members is leaving.. She is well loved.. And will be missed.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies It looks like we're in for some rain, the garden needs it.
Alls well that ends well, OHH Something better will turn up to replace it.
We went to the Mount for lunch yesterday and I'm glad we did. Packed our lunch and sat at one of the new picnic tables along the new boardwalk. It may have been mid week, but the boardwalk was well used. I went down to the beach and went for a quick paddle, the water is lovely and warm.
The Moving Houses program is back on TV1 and is a good watch. We saw the house next door being maneuvered onto the section. Those guys can back a house loaded truck to within millimeters. A couple of nights ago two trucks went by carrying houses and recently we have been seeing houses parked up on the side of the road, waiting until the wee hours to be moved. Must be the season for it
Today I'll keep digging the 'ditch' at the front of the garden to make it easier for the edges to be mowed. And maybe pull a few more weeds. Always weeding needing to be done.
happy crafting

The continuing story - the 105 report was finally responded to late last night with the police requesting I deliver the bike to my nearest police station.
I treated that with the hilarity it merited, turned over and went back to sleep.
This morning the bike has mysteriously disappeared from the back lawn. Problem solved, lol. I suspect it is a case of Thief 1 Police 0.
But it reminded me, often taking care of the micro issue contributes to sorting out the macro, but maybe that is a female thing. Or an old lady thing.
Still cool and damp out there, I feel a hibernation day coming on.

Morning everyone
Dull grey here so far. think its meant to be wet most of the day.
Years ago they moved the school house from across the road from our house, they had to come up on the footpath and missed our fence by millimeters. They are amazing people. Enjoyed the first episode of Moving houses,, I want their coal range lol.
Shopping today, Ill be going to Pukekohe. Then I will make a chocolate cake for Dianne's Birthday tomorrow. Will see if I can fine some Explorers for her. New World doesn't have any.. Thats Eskimoe's to us. But to be Politically correct they are now Explorers.. and Eskimo pies are now Polar Pies.. that might offend the Polar bears now.. !!!
Kitted up for my next picture last night. The 3rd part of the 5 piece. Then promptly fell asleep lol.
Have a fab day all

Good morning.
Cloudy and we've had some drizzle, more to come I hope.
Nice for you to get some sea air KM, we often used to come over and give our wee dog a run along the beach. Something calming about the ocean and I always keep an eye open for unusual shells.
We enjoy the house moving program, DH especially with a truck involved and all the maneuvering needed. An old house up on wheels has finally gone from the end of our road ... a new build already on the way.
Library this morning and I'll grab some groceries on the way back.
Lol OHH, as if the bike was your problem!
No plan otherwise.
Enjoy the day all.

I don't like solid fuel ranges in kitchens, because I had one once. We rented a house on ten acres and were playing farmers with sheep and chooks and cats and dogs and gardens and stuff... It had an Aga, because the owner was a chef and thought they were the best thing out. He installed it. And he put the flue through the roof, right next to a timber joist. It took a few years but one day it caught and I was there in the house alone when the ceiling went up in flames.
We were out of town and it took the brigade a while to get there.
Nope, don't like them much at all. Great to look at, but dangerous to live with...
And thank you Roma, I'm torn between being a good citizen and just forgetting the whole business. I do feel sorry for whoever owned that very expensive bike though. Still, if the police don't care, I guess it goes into the 'just one of those things' pile.

Morning everyone
Wet here. It was still 24 degrees in the lounge at 10-30 pm last night.. Was icing the birthday cakes lol.
Dianne's birthday today. Im looking forward to it. She seldom does things for herself , so its our chance to give back to her. Even tho she is shouting lunch. But I know she will get several packets of Explorers lol. I managed to get some yesterday.
Had a total blonde head yesterday lol. Forgot I needed to top up my phone by tomorrow. But a couple of quick sales on FB and all sorted now.. One lady has brought a few things from me in the past. Messaged me later and said that Im positively glowing and look well and happy. I do feel more like myself than I have done in years.. It must be showing cos a few have told me that recently. lol
Going to get wet this morning for sure. Need to do my bloods and then carry the stuff into the home. Might use the walker, I can load it all on then walk faster with it lol..

morning ladies It's trying to rain here, the ground is still dry after a few showers and the odd downpour.
Nothing specific planned for the day, housework and if the weather is still dry, I might potter outside for a bit. I have to go into town sometime today so might pop into the haberdashery shop and check out the perle threads they have in store.
Our son phoned last evening feeling a tad homesick. He had heard about the haka in parliament (loved it lol) and was asking what it was all about. He offered to pay for our lawnmower guy, but we have that sorted. We raised him right! I found a little model of a kiwi for him to put together as part of his Christmas present. Just a small reminder he's a kiwi and not an Aussie lol. He was saying an Aussie mate was trying to claim a lot of kiwi icons as theirs... our son put him straight on that one lol. I'm sure it was more ribbing each other than anything else. He was also saying he gets all of his first year's tax returned to him as he is an immigrant. It's to help set immigrants up as often they have had to start again.
Kettle's boiled, time for a cuppa.

That is a tax cut I would approve of. Just thinking, but surely old people should get the same reward. Think of how useful that little annual lump sum would be lol!

Good morning - bit of drizzle this morning hoping it’s going to turn into decent rain as forecast - the hikoi is scheduled to be on the motorway at the peak time if the rain does come it will be chaos - they are being bused in - not sure why they want to clog the motorway just as people are coming home from work - they could take the alternate road along the seafront - or set off earlier as the motorway on a normal day is problematic at that time
As pensioners we were much better off in Oz - you pay zero tax on the first 22k - National lowered our tax bracket a little the next change they have in the pipeline is just about the same as Oz - when you think about it it’s ridiculous paying out pensions and benefits then taking some of it back .The old boy worked over there his boss had to contribute 9% into a superfund which he could draw out every 6 months as he was 65 - that was a lovely tax free bonus - plus in NSW we received free rego and car insurance plus glasses and dentist and a $500 power bonus - can’t remember what the rates rebate was but it was good - Oz is a huge mineral rich country NZ will never be able to match them - pensions over there are asset tested .Even though we were Kiwis when my husband got sick all his specialist costs were covered and when he had to go to hospital in Sydney he was paid I think it was about $20 a day to cover expenses and they paid for me to travel down there and accomodation - biggest bonus his drugs were free and we came home to a hell of a shock - spent every dollar we had then lucky the kids were able to help
Robie had all the Easter pricing arrive on his desk this morning - cut his normal order in half - Whittakers have announced a price increase is imminent so enjoy your chocolate fix while you can

A hikoi is a protest, and protests are pretty pointless if no one notices them. I am just grateful they are walking, I wish I could join them.

Loved the haka in parliament & the effect it had on the devious litle weasel. And also loved Chloe's speech later - nail on head.
Did more exciting weeding earlier, with 'help' from Madame Le Cat, then made a xmas card to send to the UK. Wasn't happy with it so decided to have a fossick through some older cards I made years ago & found a much better one. Naturally, it doesn't fit any envelopes I've got so will either have to find one the right shape & size or make one; oh joy.

Been raining here all day. very heavy at times too.
We had a lovely day. David of course was late.. And he couldn't stay long but managed to wolf down his lunch.. typical man lol
Hes going to the cold play concert tonight. Had to go to Spark in Pukekohe to have something sorted out about his tickets. He reckons he paid for them ages ago, but they were $1000? so he's either right up the front or used a scalper. More money than sense. And its hosing down. Is Eden park covered?
Everyone enjoyed their lunch, left overs some here and some at the home. And Colleen has the cake that the ;adies can enjoy.
The sun has just poked through but its still raining. My lawn wont be done for a few days.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

They changed their mind - no walking buses straight through to Hastings - it isn’t raining so not sure why plans have changed -
