You can never have enough...
Morning everyone

A Late start cos I was up at 3-3am leaving the bed and going back to my chair. While comfortable I woke up in pain from my neck to my spine and hips. Madam was pleased to I know she prefers the chair. I will give it another go next Friday. Then I have the weekend to recover. I really hoped it would be good.

Took two hours to swap them around, do a thorough vacuum and I couldn't find the legs for the bed, Well I didn't look. so I thought well Ill just sit it on the floor till I find the legs. so I put it all together Valance and cover etc. First bag I looked in that was Under my bed had the legs.. Pffftttt so they are in the spare room Ill do that another day lol

I like looking at gardens but not all the work.

Im about 5/6ths done on all the black on Annies picture. will get that all done today and then can start on the butterflies in pinks blues, purples and yellow. And the Text is in white.

Plugged the burnt crockpot in yesterday and of course it blew the fuse. I thought I felt the lead break when I taped it. And I thought well I better get the pudding pot out and see how that is after being boiled dry. Its fine Yay.. but while getting that out I realized I have a big Kenwood crockpot, I got from the oppy last year.. Do I remember getting it.. NOOO lol. But now Ill be able to make a double mix of rice for 6 days. so That's awesome. Glad I did have it cos my breakfasts are to me my most important meal of the day and Id planned for rice all week.

Need to pop up for more Pepsi and a dammed TV guide lol.

Have a fab day all

Most of the plants are in the ground and the hose is on the garden. I have a paper bag full of knee-high dahlias and where I want to plant them will be 'under construction' over the next few months with the fence repair and the tree trunk being ground. I will have to find them a temporary home until then. It will also let me see what colours they are - I love mystery plants!

Your tomato seedlings sound great, OHH. A cheap way to have plants in the garden and especially good if you find a vegie you really like. There are community gardens here now as well as kai cupboards. I think more and more people are becoming involved not just for the food but for the social side of it all as well. There is something about getting your hands (or gloves lol) dirty. I think it's good for the soul.

Kettle has boiled, we have both earned a cuppa.

Getting into the dirt stops me killing people.

Funny thing though, people smile when I tell them that. But it's the truth. I prefer trees to most people.

Present company excepted.

When youngest grandson was here the other day, I suddenly realised that I'd left the two sage plants out & it was expected to get colder, so I went & got them & was telling them sorry & you really have to come in its getting too cold for you yet...& then I clocked the look on his face,

I'd obviously been well & & truly rumbled so I admitted to talking to plants (& lots of other things but I didn't burden him with that) because I have a plum tree in the garden which I'd had for years without so much as one tiny blossom, but after I told it that, if there wasn't at least blossoms next spring, then come the next winter & it would be firewood.

The next spring it was covered in blossom & has plums every year...

I'm expecting a few sideways looks from him in the future...well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

morning ladies Smile Another lovely day on its way.

You are not alone, Lilith lol. The olive tree we had never fruited or even flowered until I gave it a good stern talking too. The next year we had ONE olive lol. And I tell the roses they will be gone if they disappoint. I've thought of a spot where the knee-high dahlias can temporarily go and will get that done this morning. And there is a bag of spring bulbs similar to ixia to find a home for. They spread quickly so might have to be constrained to a pot.

Claude Monet, the rose that was broken to bits by the tree, has SIX flowers and another bud. It bloomed three at the end of last summer which surprised me. And the leaves have gone from yellow to light green. I'm nursing it along in a pot for now and it will go back into the garden once fully recovered.

It looks like we will have two trips to Whakatane/Opotiki in the New Year. One will be to scatter MrK's brother-in-law's ashes and the other is a road trip mrK has been wanting to do for a very long time. It's been years since we have been that way, so we are both looking forward to it.

Will work a bit more on the hardanger piece but am running out of thread. If we are in Tauranga next week it will mean a stop at Spotlight.

Good morning.

Clear blue sky and sun.  Watering a necessity now.

School run day and a day at home.

So that's what I need to do to the plum tree ... have a talk to it,  lol! I'm too scared to see if the half dozen plums I spied (first fruit ever) are still there! It was covered in blossom.

I have flower buds on some of my new dahlias ... exciting! These ones are mostly shorter varieties.

Are you staying at Opotiki KM? Lots of Air bnbs allow dogs these days and you can shop around for a good price.

Better get moving.

Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone

A beautiful start to the day here.

I've threatened things with the chop. Probably the oddest was a Mandarin tree dragged from one side of Mangakino to the other, put in the prepared whole. And told it better survive or it will go back. It was a good tree lol

Had a lazyish day yesterday. but I got many hours of work on Annies picture done. I only have one word and a little bit of blue on the butterflies left. I just got too tired last night, late. so Ill get that done. Should have put the washing on and probably the dishwasher, but since Im home today it can wait.

Going to measure the smaller bookcase Mr'P made me years ago and see if the tv will fit on it. I wish it had one central foot but it has two spindly looking legs. I might have something I can put on it. but then I have the two boxes that need to go on there too.

Have a fab day all

oh boy... I despair at our health system... this really makes me wonder how well our hospital people know their body bits. My cardiology referral has been sent to gynecology, and I am on their list. They are only 20 bloody years too late for that!

lmao too funny! I've had an apology so that's something! But no referral has been received and my doctor has to send it off again. Just as well it's not done by snail mail these days.

If it was North Shore I'd've been a bit worried - some of their docs have history using females patients under anaesthetic to teach young doctors about internals... Stupid old echool males.

Not a pleasant thought.

I remember being asked if the Teenage looking Boy that was in the room with the Dr could watch when she checked the female bits. He was a dr But I could have been his mother. I did it but I think I would be more worried about being knocked out and done.

morning ladies Smile It's overcast... pleasssseeee rain!

lol harm_less, I love it! And so true. Maybe I should stitch one and hang it near the door.

The story about the doctors from the North Shore was recently on the news, I think. Scary stuff. I didn't hear the outcome though.

Yesterday I took an old dying yukka out of its pot and gave the pot a good clean. The plan is to put a waterfall begonia in it instead. What a mission to get the yukka out. I ended up using the hose to flush the soil out and my little chainsaw to cut the yukka into bits before pulling it out. Now to shuffle the pots around to make room for it. Today I'll potter along the roadside garden, but I need our wheelie bins emptied first so I can use the trolley. That trolley was the best swap we have made; it is used almost every time we are in the garden.

This afternoon I'll work a bit more on the hardanger piece. Not exactly thrilled with it but it will do and keeps the hands busy.

I have caught up with some Neon offerings over the last few days alongside MKR on tvnz, and been reminded that the thin skin of civilisation laid upon human beings is very thin indeed. Given the right context we too can become warring mammals intent on blood and carnage with skant regard for laws, propriety, or consequences. Be it giving points for a dessert, or taking rage out on a desert population the look on faces is remarkably similar.

Today the tech comes to give the new scoot a once over and tighten up the steering for me, the final thing on my to do list before I get back to pleasurable things, like stitchery. I bought a dress made from a really interesting fabric and want to take the scissors to it to make it a skirt. The challenge is to reinvent the rest of it, too interesting to just chuck it. And then I am going to apply more stitchery to add texture to the printed fabric pattern . My fingers itch to get it off the hanger and start.

Yukkas are a plant so well named I have always found. Horrible bitey things, worse than bad tempered cats. A begonia is a much friendlier beast. And prettier.

Morning everyone

Overcast here. I also wish it would rain.

Love the Cross stitch.. I imagine Butchers have the same thought from time to time.

Totally agree. Yukkas have to be the worst plant on the planet. I simply ignore the ones here unless I have to hack a bit off. They are still disturbing the spouting on the house. I've told them. Thats it.

Got Annies picture done. The time saved having the background in mainly one colour is amazing. its 35 by 45 cms and I only started Thursday afternoon, and only had half a day on Saturday. Started the 4th piece of the multi one. Did 12cms of 20 cm's width. Cant wait to see them finished and together.

Apparently Im not allowed a Day off from the home. Well all I can say is thank goodness he lost his phone or he would get another bitchy message.. Hopefully Max ate it. But also doesn't have any problems from it. He might find Im stand offish tomorrow.. Sill man , he should know us Gals stick together.

Mum has a bad cataract in her left eye. But she is getting new glasses for the right eye. So she can see enough to paint. That might explain her distance challenges. And Hats off to Pukekohe Specsavers, they are taking the new glasses to her, to fit them properly. such a big day to get her there and back etc.

Have a fab day everyone

I've also thought yukkas were aptly named. It has taken a while for MrK to concede the yukka needed to go. Dunno why he just doesn't give up at the start, he knows he will eventually Tongue

Specsavers are awesome. They kept MrK's 50% golden ticket an extra year for him while he waited for his cataract to be done. And we didn't have to remind them about it when he finally got his glasses, it was already taken off the price.
