David phoned from Colleens room. they wanted me at the family / rest home wide Christmas dinner.. They spoke to the boss and Im going. Davids, Cam is footing the bill..
I explained I was busy with the garage sale prep etc., they pointed out I am Family and this way they know I Will stop for lunch. They know me well lol.
So I've done a bit more in the garage. Will get up earlyish in the morning and get the car out, and put the tables up then I can lay the stuff out later.
I suspect Colleen told David she thought I should be there. She considers me as a Daughter too. So they were going to redo the table layout to fit me in.
Ill go up slightly earlier in hope of getting a carpark. Handy having my parking permit.
Passed the House inspection. I do feel bad at lying to Eden, but I have to stick to it now. Ill tell them when I leave.
Also found out Maureen's house is up for Auction on the 19th if not sold prior. Hope we get a nice family that fits in.
Will Not be Parking on the front lawn now that we have had rain. I dont want to get stuck like my friend did a couple of years ago lol.. hence not having it out tonight.. one night is enough.
well done Furry one.. you will need to run more to slim back down again lol
That's lovely Popeye, hope your Xmas dinner goes well.
I like the St Andrews one, Jan.

He could never resist following a hare if one crossed before him, be it road kill or .22. Hare in red wine was his second favourite dish, his favourite - and mine - was a slow roasted pheasant. I am not convinced though it was all about the taste, he relished the feathers to add to his fly tying stash.
We have some village excitement starting today. A rather lovely young man in hi vis gear banged on my door yesterday afternoon to organise a clear space for a big bin, he is about to start gutting the fire damaged unit, which is great news. Aside from the fact that desolation is an unpleasant reminder of a tragedy it means we will be getting a new neighbour, and someone desperately in need will be getting a safe haven. Then, as these things go, hard on those heels we have another elderly tenant who has a space coming up with the Little Sisters of the Poor, whose rest home is a very desirable target for the local aging Catholic congregation. Apparently, it is several steps above the other offerings - blessed by past Bishops lol. So, two spaces to be filled, hopefully with folk who are happy to live in a village setting - we seem just lately to have gained rather too many of the hermit variety. A village needs community minded people. And a couple more gardening souls would really help share the load, lol. I shall put in my order when I see the community manager, if and when.
Meanwhile, the lovely young man in hi vis has given us permission to toss a few unwanted items in his bin, so I am hoping my hoarder neighbour gets a little enthusiastic about the opportunity. We shall see! Things happening in this quiet place always makes life more interesting...
Then here's hoping you get some nice - & sociable - new neighbours.

Now that's handy, having a big bin to throw stuff in. I'd be making the most of it There should be a check list to tick off for the type of person the village wants.
I drove MrK in for his INR blood test. Stood on the scales at the docs and another 2 kilos has gone since I weighed myself last week. Mind you, the vomiting probably had something to do with it.

Big pink bin has arrived and has been cleverly positioned in the Trades parking space under my kitchen window. Which is very useful, it will be there for a while, and provides a useful barrier to the opportunist tenant who finds it an easier park than his allocated one when he comes home near midnight each evening after a night at the pub. Despite my polite request he not do so...

Been a lovely day. Lunch was roast chicken breasts, a bit of ham. Barely roasted potatoes, cauli, brocolli and carrots. with a nice gravy.
We had fun. Laughing all the time. Well apart from Annie being in a grump, but she had a reason to be and Colleen nitpicked. But they settled down.
We all had crackers, man they are loud. Corny jokes, hats and I got a spinning top that goes like the clappers. Ended up with another, so there will be competitions on Monday. David didn't get a chance to control things. I ended up wearing one of mums tops, the one I wore was too hot. lol. Ill wash it carefully, it has sequins and sparkles on it. And return it on Monday.
Also managed to come home with a nice bottle of sparkling grape juice. non alcoholic. Dianne's Sister who was nearly dead last night was dancing away and singing lol.
Have had food poisoning on Christmas day once. Was absolutely miserable , so Im glad its now rather than Christmas day KM.. Are you going to your daughters this year?
Thankfully I dont have much to do for the garage sale tomorrow.. Just going to put the address up tonight. And I have some linen to take down.
Dianne came home with me and got some stuff so that's a start.

They are redecorating one of the pensioner flats here. they always have a huge bin which they allow their residents to put stuff in. I think its terrific cos some like yourself Hunni wont have a way of getting rid of anything too big.
Love karma. especially when you get to see it or benefit from it

morning ladies It's becoming too hot for me to keep weeding but I have done along one whole fenceline. A few weeks ago, I wouldn't have been able to do that in one hit. And I was feeling a tad dizzy. I think that was because of the sudden weight loss and being sick.
Your Christmas luncheon sounds like a lot of fun, popeye. I saw your pic on FB wearing the red top, it was very pretty and very Christmasy.
Nope, we are staying home. It's our turn to host Christmas this year (hence the garden madness lol) and our daughter and family are coming for a few days. MrK's family are coming as well.
uggghh I hate drunk drivers as well. They cause so much misery but never seem to be hurt themselves.
MrK is making homemade lemonade with our lemons. It's our favourite summer drink but is also nice in the winter with hot water as well. This time he's putting some mint in it as we have quite a bit of mint to use. It's simple to make, just a sugar syrup topped with loads of lemon juice when the syrup cools. Bottle and keep in fridge. Pour a bit to taste in the bottom of your glass and fill glass with plain water or bubbles. It's never the same as the amounts change lol.
Kettle's boiled, time for a cuppa.
Happy crafting

Sweetie darling no.2 & lovely DIL called in yesterday, good to see them & sort out xmas in slightly more detail. But of course, it was onle after they'd left that I remembered about the spider plant I had for them!
According to the forecast, likely to be even hotter here today than it has been so far; not sure whether or not to believe them; they claimed it would rain the other day, & not a drop fell.

I am swigging my summer drink, Roses lime cordial heavily diluted with water with a big lemon juice ice block floating. Fun to watch it melt as I work my way down.
I am also wending my way round the world in the 80s with Elspeth Beard on her old BMW bike, her book is Lone Rider, and it is fabulous. Not least because these are the years I learnt to ride, although not on a monster machine like hers. Highly recommended, a good summer afternoon read. With a cool drink on the side.

Roses lime cordial, one of my favourite drinks.
I can also recommend The Original HP Sauce, a black sauce that is a condiment without par.

Absolutely. Fresh bread thickly sliced, loads of butter, bacon pieces stacked on top and HP Sauce.
So delicious and so rich you think you will be sick but you can't stop eating it.

Im just finishing a bottle of Bundaberg Peach drink. It is yummy but not as good as the passionfruit. Dianne treated me yesterday while we were wandering around the supermarket.
I haven't had roses lime juice in ages either. Refreshing when what ever you mix it with is cold and with ice.
Have made enough money to cover things this week. The new increased Car rego I thought was a rip off. Mine went up before they announced the ACC increase. But that , my phone and internet are covered so Im pleased with that.
I might open again tomorrow. But what ever is left will go to the oppy, this is their last week of the year.

morning ladies We have a real pea souper this morning, typical foggy start after a hot day.
I'm glad your garage sale was successful, popeye. Always good to be rid of excess stuff and have extra $$ in the pocket. A win-win.
Today the plan is to finish the weeding and pull out the finished poppies. It shouldn't take long to do. And the bird bath needs another scrub and top up. Maybe that's what the blackbird was ticking me off for yesterday lol. I also need to pot up some plants for my sister-in-law. When the day is too hot to be outside, I'll start wrapping Christmas presents.
I need to do a little baking for Christmas, shortbread and fruit mince pies. And the obligatory choc chip bikkies for the grandkids. Am dreading the supermarket shop next week so plan to go very early.
Better get cracking and make the most of the cool start to the day.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Its cool here . Meaning Madam didn't let me up too early lol
Have decided to open again this morning. Just hope that people bring change. I have none really .
I text David last night, there's some kitchen stuff he might like to add to his catering gear.
Might mow some of the lawn later. Im going to lift it up a bit tho. To help keep it green.
Have a fab day all
