"democracy as an outdated artifact to be deleted"

A link to an extremely long but well written essay, well worth taking some time to read.   J D Vance is much more scary than  he looks.

Thanks for that. An excellent read and expands on much of the content that the Goth MAGA video I posted recently alluded to. A question that bugged me through the content was how someone with Trump's limited intellect could be helping engineer a strategy of this complexity was answered in the closing paragraphs. Trump doesn't understand what's actually going on under his presidency, he's just a useful idiot that the techbros have used to convince the masses which is now allowing them to force their way into the corridors and mainframes of power where they are staging their digital coup. Incidentally Musk's son was entirely accurate in the comments he made to Trump in the whitehouse office recently. 'You're not really the president' and 'you should just shut up' tends to describe Trump's present situation perfectly.

Its difficult to believe that anyone in their right mind could see monarchy as better than democracy; perhaps they don'y know much about history. Or prefer to ignore it.

Its a terrifying thing, when the world is in such jeopardy, that a fictional character - the Jackal - can now be seen as being possibly the best means of help.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Monarchy was pretty good for the monarchs. They just had to watch their backs if the peasants starting getting a bit antsy. But by digitising your control it takes the whole fronting up in person part of things out of the picture while at the same time keeping much of your activities out of the public gaze.

Britain? Australia? Canada? New Zealand? Japan? Denmark? These are constitutional monarchies. They work...

The current regime in the US do not want to institute anything like that. They want an autocracy. Be interesting to see if they got it, how long each of them would last. There can be only one Ring to rule them all...

You have to hope that they don't get that.

Its sad really when you think what America once was, how much better it was for (almost)all its people & heading towards being better for all of them.
