These are peacherines, OHH so we don't know if they will grow true. They are a cross between peaches and nectarines. If you have a chance to try one, do, they are delicious. I think cherries and apricots need the cold to do well, fingers crossed yours grow
Those little birds will have one heck of a hangover lol. Sounds like the berries the tui eat and become drunk lol.
I just picked a few mushrooms off the lawn. This humidity and rain then warm sunshine is perfect for them to grow. So home grown mushies for lunch
Life is a one time offer, use it well

Nectarines are a form of smooth skinned peaches, peacherines are another one of the family, so should breed true to one or either parent, which is a pretty good reason to try it. Stone fruit are good like that, pip fruit though are a little more like a genetic roulette wheel - still fun to try though, as my crab apple tree (which interestingly enough is actually two seedlings that have grown together to form a single tree) has proved to be. It has flat shaped fruit rather than round, but the jelly is fantastic. But not this year, because though it bloomed beautifully, the fruiting is a bit disappointing. Next year though, I am expecting a heavy crop!
In my Taupo garden we had a rowan tree, and often had drunken birds passed out on the lawn. The cats found their behaviour very puzzling, lol.

Out early to get dogbiscuits which were down to $20 this week also needed paper towels so because you get one minecraft card with each $30 spent, I managed to make it up to the $30 by getting peas & also some tissues whch I don't need but a granddaughter might & when I got back the lawn mowing people were just starting so good timing for once.
When the Minecraft thingy promotion ends I'm going to post them to the wee boys - I checked with Granddaughter & they love getting mail so that'll be a nice surprise for them.
The Tatty cat is enjoying Iams cat biscuits at the moment, a real treat not usually in the budget, but last week the supermarket had a big bag at $19 instead of $26, so I indulged. She has been told though, not to get used to it!

Popeye - take a break but don’t let the drunken bully influence when you are ready to go back - of course Diane would want a break her Mum has just died - but you enjoy being with the ladies and I am sure they love seeing you - don’t let the sad old drunk stop you
My Mum had a huge avocado and macadamia nut tree she grew from the seed inside the fruit - so many said they would never fruit but they certainly did - it’s fun trying Kiwimade especially peacherines - my son has a greengage tree down on the farm - have been enjoying them it’s been a bumper crop first time in the ten years they have been there - Mother Nature works in mysterious ways - pluots are yummy - cross between plum and apricot - but my favourite is still white flesh nectarine
Price of lambs really high at the sales today so if you see any lamb bargains grab it - price is going up

Madame le dog loves those Nature's goodness dogbiscuits & they're usually $26 so down to $20's not bad. I got Madame le Cat friskies biscuits, different variety though so we'll see how that goes. Probably she'll love them for a day or so & then go off them...

Thank you everyone
I have decided to respect that the lunch is from Mum and I wont make a scene. But I was talking to Dianne and she will give me a nod and we will all leave together. Which will be good for both of us.
Im not telling Colleen and Annie any more than I need time.
I have text the Bully and asked him to bring Bobbies Pictures and the money for the walker. And once we have eaten we will leave like normal.
I have already booked one day a month. To go to Housie which my friend runs. Who always said if she had the choice she would have come to painting lol. Its a gold coin donation, morning tea supplied and you play for free. For chocolate I think lol
Dianne is more worried about me, she has Paul to talk to, I dont have anyone. I said trust me I like my quiet time, so it shouldnt be too bad.
Im going to have to google Drunk Birds. lol
We used to have a wonderful crab apple tree. I Still miss preserving, I guess it will be something I will always Miss.
My friend who does the Bingo also has dogs, so I can visit her and cuddle her monsters lol
Madame Missy was also spoilt today. I got her a bag of temptation bikkies. which are only treats ( I chant to myself) . The good thing is she will happily go back to the others. I wish Id got two tho. They were $3 cheaper.
Came online to see if any of the books I ordered have arrived. but nothing yet.
Dianne had a brilliant idea. Im going to contact the Junktion to see if they would like the Electric chair back. They do recycling classes etc up there. So they could recover the bits that need mending and then on sell it.. Actually I should take photos then contact them through facebook.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Exactly Hunni..
Im secretly looking forward to it. The stress of the arguments and having to mind ya P's and Q's incase it sets one of them off is tiring.
Ill probably only miss the free heating in the winter lol.. But I have my Hotties lol.
And I might finally get some more sewing done too.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

morning ladies What a gorgeous sunrise we had this morning. There is something special about seeing that each morning.
Sounds like you have a plan in mind, popeye. That's the way to do it
I saw an article online with the headline "The US is being towed to be sunk' referring to an old shop. Thought it was pretty apt for their country lol. And I also thought Americans fought a war against the monarchy, King Trump, hrmmpp! If it wasn't so worrying it would be laughable.
Back to the War of the Convolvulus this morning. Might do some trimming back while I'm at it.
Later this afternoon I'll rest and stitch.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Its clouding over here. but yes it was a Beautiful sunrise.
Even better today, Dianne is picking me up. So I Have to leave when they do.
She asked me yesterday if I would like Mums nighties, the newer ones. But I could say no if I didn't. I said I would love them. They will be cared for with love and it will feel like she is hugging me when I wear them.
Some people dont like to wear dead peoples clothes, but if you shop at an oppy you most likely have, without knowing. and I know where these came from.
Ohh its raining, just lightly.
Housework for me this weekend. And Ill be bagging up stuff I've needed to get rid of, cos Ill have the extra rubbish bags after Lord Fournteroy pays me today.. Spelling is probably wrong but it suits him lol
Have a wonderful day everyone..
. Fish and chips for lunch and I cant wait lol. Mum loved her fish and chips.. proper ones not the shit they get there lol
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Good morning.
It's very warm already and we are in for a high temperature day. Best to get things done early!
Yes good plan, just do anything on your terms Popeye. We had fish n chips at the weekend with our visitors ... it's been a long while ... brand new takeaway up the road to try out ... tick of approval
Each day that American president makes world headlines with something negative he has done. Awful human.
I'll have to keep an eye out for peacherines ... they are yum for sure. Certainly enjoying the seasonal stone fruit though.
The cicadas have started in earnest so had better move before it gets hot.
Enjoy the day all.

Scattered cloud fine at moment but expecting rain this afternoon.
You do what's best for you Popeye.
Really tired yesterday had a Nana nap so no sewing.
Not sure what I will get up to today might make the tote bags got the cotton curtain material at Spotlight @ $10/m on special but they took 30% off so a score @ $7/m have enough to make 16 bags. Mum bags for The Nest Collective
Still bootee knitting making 4-6 month size as we have heaps of newborn - 3 months. The wool I got from Aliexpress is knitting up nicely
Enjoy your day
It's fun to have fun but you have to know how

The compost bins and I smell of sage and rosemary Love pruning them both back just for the fragrance they give off. The green waste bin is full already. It's just that time of the year
That's a good price for curtain fabric, mica. I'll be in Spotlight next week to take advantage of the 40% discounts on embroidery threads (as if I need more lol but am running out of my most used colours). It's also a chance to buy some more rayon threads. The Hamilton Spotlight also now stocks variegated embroidery thread. About time they got with the program lol. Now I don't have to buy them online.
Time for a cuppa, it's getting hot out there already, so I've packed away the gardening stuff for the day. And besides, the heart is racing away... sigh.

Just take things slowly Popeye & do whatever you feel is best.
Supposed to rain here later in the day, so changed sheets & hung them out; about an hour later it was all clouded over so grabbed them & chucked them in the dryer. The clouds were almost black & looked ready to rain any minute so rushed out & picked runner beans & tomoatoes & while I was there thought I might as well dig up the last spuds & bring them in as well.
Did all that & decided it must be time for coffee - & then I noticed Madame le Dog looking at me. And I was reminded of this quote from Travels with Charley, Steinbeck:
"I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that dogs think humans are nuts."
Dogs are right - humans are nuts.
And so far, not as much as one drop of rain has fallen...

Rest Home done. Over and Out.
Colleen and Annie are not dumb. Annie left without saying goodbye, and Colleen said your not coming back next week are you. I said No I've got a lot on next week. But she knows.
The Drunk one didn't turn up. So he missed out on lunch. I have text him and asked him to drop Bobbies picture's and my money off before the morning.
They hadn't even copied the pictures like we asked for of Mum. We got them in the end. Manager stayed out of sight.
The new lady in Mums room is soo nice. Pity they have no idea what they are in for.
Must take the marker pen out of my bag. We wrote on things for the fridge for the last time.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

What a shame its likely to be scrapped. With so many homeless people over there, you'd think perhaps it could be refitted & made suitable for housing.

Yeah...that'll be the leftie/commie/hippie coming out...
On second thoughts, might it not be a truly fabulous place once it's done up on which to house their glorious leader...it would only take a few weights & a wee push & there's surely no shortage of volunteers...?
