Loathe thy neighbour
#1
Interesting article about how 'empathy is a parasitic plague'.
Apparently even Christians are adopting this view - I've no idea how the hell they reconcile this vicious view with their bible, which I think tells them to 'love thy neighbour'.

I'm extremely grateful not to be living in America.

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

I dunno lilith, I am having a hard time NOT loathing our drunk driver neighbour. Who by the way is supposedly on holiday overseas for two weeks, which means he's due back this coming week...

Be interesting to see if the 'he's done a runner' lot are right!

Might be best if he has. Dodgy

Perhaps the odd exception; especially those vile creatures who abused kids under the guise of religion...

Fairly sure that those who murder children are imprisoned.

justice often takes time heisenberg, i'd put money on the police knowing exactly who did the crime, but simply waiting for someone in the family to turn.  Vows of silence is nothing new and not specific to any particular ethnic group.
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

the poster appeared to be regurgitating one of the more recent internet memes.

This is not the same as stating/condoning more killers to take out corporate bosses - moreso a call for change in the US health system.

Sorry, as one of the resident lefties I didn't see the corporate bosses thing, though I confess to supporting inflicting protest damage on corporate property. Seems fair, seeing corporates make a habit of damaging other people's property. And the planet, on regular occasions...

I'm sure you understand that first there has to be an arrest, then a trial etc.etc.

There is also the point, that if we really wanted to support better families, and the elimination of child abuse in this country we could do it, by focusing political will on the effort. Weknow how to do it, we just don't want to do more than more of the same old...

Because the reality is it is not a priority of ANY government. If it was we wouldn't be seeing the trafficking of Samoan children into domestic slavery here, among other despicable cruelties.

Yes we could....but its SO handy to have people we can refer to as less than, people we can blame for anything & everything; it was THOSE people over there, those 'other' people.

The beloved scapegoat group.

You might think that, by this stage we might have woken up to ourselves & made a start on putting things right...

Nah - I'm sure heisenberg would prefer a mob assault, then a good old lynching...

Probably a possibility - & worse, he's unlikely to be alone in that.

the kahui twins were murdered in 2006, how much time ...........they can keep their vow of silence in prison

Oh! Wow! So, we should just throw everyone involved in jail and call it sorted? Hmmmm...

I don't think every crime is able to be solved and those responsible brought to justice, sometimes people get away with stuff. And heave a deep sigh of relief when it happens. Big stuff and the small everyday errors of judgement.

That is why we have karma. And the older I get, the more karmic solutions I get to see. Makes me glad I chose the vanilla path, though of course, there is still time...

But the father has been tried and acquitted -  and then there is this
