I read recently that a group of medical science researchers had results that compare the 40 weeks of pregnancy to the same weeks running a marathon, in energy terms. Which is why carrying a child has such huge physical long term effects on a body. And then there's the findings that the fetus shares genetic material with the mother during gestation which remains in her body. That has implications for those forced to carry unwanted and unwelcomed pregnancies, implications that need thinking about when considering the 'seeing it through' option...
