Palm oil farming is hugely destructive to the natural environment. I worked in the jungle in Borneo in the early 80s so am well aware of the incredibly diverse flora and fauna there. Seeing the extent of those areas that are now in oil palm plantings, which when viewed from 38,000 ft is jaw dropping, is incredibly disappointing to see.

The fall back argument that farmers use to support their use of PKE is that it is a waste product that needs to be disposed of so feeding it to cows is of benefit. Apart from that they are supporting a very destructive industry they are oblivious to the additional environmental harm of shipping it across the world.
